A Lesson for Shuvu Banim Tel Aviv at the Home of the Gaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Shuvu Banim’s Activities in the City of Teshuvah, Tel Aviv–Yafo ○ Summary from the Lesson

The city of Teshuvah, Tel Aviv–Yafo, has become a true city of Teshuvah largely thanks to the tremendous work of The Rav shlit"a, which began back in the 1970s and continues to this day through his greatest students—his emissaries. In the heart of Tel Aviv, at 86 Eliezer Ben Yehuda Street, the “Shuvu Banim” synagogue was established, where many people find their way into the world of Teshuvah and into the true light, following the path of The Rav Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. Each week there are lessons given by leading students of The Rav shlit"a—on Tuesdays by the esteemed Rabbi Ofer Erez shlit"a, and on Thursdays by the esteemed Rabbi Mordechai Sofrin shlit"a.

Some of those who have drawn close, and members of Shuvu Banim in the city of Tel Aviv, entered inward to the holy lesson this past Monday night, the eve of the 28th of Marcheshvan. The Rav Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a opened the lesson with words of encouragement about rising early in the morning—before, as he put it, the sky has even turned blue. After that, he told a story of how one of the Tzaddik’s people came close. He also spoke about the blessings mentioned in the weekly Torah portion, Toldos. He spoke as well about the greatness of the gravesite of Avner ben Ner, who restrained himself and did not take revenge on Yoav after Yoav stabbed him. After that, he spoke about the Akeidas Yitzchak, and about how Avraham said, “If only Yishmael might live before You”—and that because of this we suffer so much from the descendants of Yishmael. He also spoke about the Shabbos of Chayei Sarah in Chevron. He then continued at length on the weekly portion and on additional topics from every part and hidden treasure of the holy Torah. And after more than forty minutes, he concluded with Kaddish—like a blazing flame.
