A Lesson for the Residents of Haifa and Nahariya in the Home of the Gaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a ○ A Summary from the Lesson

In the northwestern region of Eretz Yisrael—as well as throughout the rest of the North in particular, and the Land as a whole—there are many who see themselves as students of The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. This group, numbering more than thirty people, entered last Wednesday night, the night of the 18th of Shevat, for a special lesson for the students of Rabbi Berland shlit"a who came from the cities of Haifa, Nahariya, Nesher, and the surrounding area.

In the lesson, which lasted more than forty minutes, The Rav shlit"a spoke mainly from the Aggados of the Shas, and especially from the Gemara in Sanhedrin 19a–b. After that, he spoke from the Rambam’s discussion on Maseches Yevamos regarding the law of a person who killed unintentionally: even if he cut two simanim, he is not called a murderer—because the person died due to the air that entered through the window, and not because of the slaughtering. After that, he spoke about Michal the daughter of Eli, who died beneath the altar that Eliyahu built on Har HaCarmel, as brought in the verses. After that, he spoke about the greatness of dancing. Below is a passage from his words, as brought in the Gemara in Kesubos, daf 17. He also spoke about David, who did not pay attention to humiliations, and danced and leapt in honor of Hashem. After a lesson of forty minutes, The Rav shlit"a concluded with Kaddish and went out to Ma’ariv with a great crowd, from the balcony of his home.
