A Mother of Malchus • A Prayer for the Yahrtzeit of Mrs. Etya Berland a”h

Today, the 11th of Sivan, is the yahrtzeit of the “Mother of Malchus”—the one who merited to bring into the world the great light, her firstborn son, the holy Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. The mother of The Rav shlit"a, Mrs. Etya, was born in the year 5673 (1913) in Tasht, in what was then Romania (today Ukraine), to her parents, Reb Moshe and Leah Strulovitz. She immigrated in the year 5693 (1933). In the year 5697 (1937) she merited to establish her home with Reb Chaim Berland zt"l. In the year 5699 (1939) they brought into the world the great light—may he be separated for life—The Rav Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a.
A number of years ago, her firstborn son—The Rav, the holy Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a—wrote a prayer for the yahrtzeit that falls on the 11th of Sivan. Presented here is the complete prayer:
In the merit of the yahrtzeit of the Rav’s mother, may our prayers be accepted, may all harsh decrees be annulled, and may all the nations of the world serve the People of Israel.
Master of the World, in the merit of the yahrtzeit of the Rav’s mother, “Etya daughter of Rabbi Moshe son of Chaim ztzuk"l,” raise all of our prayers to the Heichal of Rebbe Nachman—the Heichal of the ever-changing and transforming hues. And in the merit of the yahrtzeit of the Rav’s mother, “Etya daughter of Moshe son of Chaim ztzuk"l,” annul all decrees from upon Your people, the House of Israel. And everything the nations of the world plot against us for evil—“frustrate their counsel and ruin their designs.” Turn all their counsel and thoughts about us into good, as it is said: “And Hashem your G-d transformed the curse into a blessing for you, because Hashem your G-d loves you.” And may all the nations of the world serve Your people, the House of Israel, with love and brotherhood, peace and friendship, as it is said: “Strangers shall stand and pasture your flocks, and foreigners shall be your farmers and your vinedressers.”
