A Prayer to Merit Being a Servant of the Holy One, Blessed be He
Master of the Universe, the Omnipotent One, from whom no purpose can be withheld, grant me the merit to be a servant of the Holy One, Blessed be He, as it is stated: "I will rejoice greatly in Hashem, my soul will exult in my God; for He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me in a robe of righteousness, like a bridegroom who dons priestly glory, and like a bride who adorns herself with her jewels. For as the earth brings forth its growth, and as a garden causes its seeds to sprout, so will the Lord Hashem cause righteousness and praise to sprout before all the nations. For Zion's sake I will not be silent, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth like brilliant light, and her salvation burns like a torch. And the nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; and you will be called by a new name that the mouth of Hashem will designate. You will be a crown of splendor in the hand of Hashem, and a royal diadem in the palm of your God. No longer will it be said of you, 'Forsaken,' and no longer will your land be called 'Desolate'; but you will be called 'My delight is in her,' and your land 'Espoused'; for Hashem delights in you, and your land will be espoused. For as a young man espouses a virgin, so will your children espouse you; and as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you. Upon your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; all day and all night, continually, they will never be silent. You who remind Hashem, take no rest for yourselves! And give Him no rest, until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. Hashem has sworn by His right hand and by His mighty arm: 'I will never again give your grain as food for your enemies, nor will foreigners drink your wine for which you have labored. But those who harvest it will eat it and praise Hashem, and those who gather it will drink it in My holy courtyards.'"
