A Prayer to Merit on the Day of the Hilula of Our Holy Rebbe, from Whom No Secret is Hidden, That an Illumination from Atika Should be Drawn Upon Us
"The Hilula (anniversary of passing) of our holy and awesome Rebbe, Rebbe Nachman ben Simcha ben Feiga."
Our holy and awesome Rebbe, from whom no secret is hidden, who merited the secret of the Nukva d'Pardashka (the Divine breath of life), as brought down in Torah 2 (of Likutey Moharan), from which comes the secret of the resurrection of the dead, the "life of lives." Rebbe Nachman merited this in absolute perfection. For the Chotama d'Atika (the nose of the Ancient One, representing the highest level of Divine mercy) is called "Chessed and Emes" (Loving-kindness and Truth). As it is written: "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; loving-kindness and truth go before Your presence." For "His throne was fiery flames... ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him." Because the Ateres HaYesod (Crown of the Foundation) is the secret of the Throne of Glory. "The foundation of Your dwelling place that You, Hashem, have made; the Sanctuary, Hashem, that Your hands have established." For great is the Sanctuary, as it is placed between two Divine Names. Because the entire spiritual work of the tzaddik is the rectification of the Throne (Tikkun HaKursaya), to draw down illumination from the Chotama d'Atika to Zeir Anpin (the lesser countenance, representing the revealed emotional attributes). And this is what Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai said to Rabbi Yehuda: "Arise in your standing," meaning that he merited the World of Rectification (Olam HaTikkun), which endures forever and for all eternity. And just as the greatness of the King is proclaimed when He sits upon His throne—the throne of justice, judgment, and mercy—therefore, the Chotama d'Atika is called the Holy Throne (Kursaya Kadisha). Only one who is the true tzaddik can grasp this, meriting the aspect of absolute eternity: "Half of them toward the eastern sea"—representing Adam Kadmon (Primordial Man)—"and half of them toward the western sea"—representing Malchus (Kingship). Because in the Sukkah, it is possible to attain the Fiftieth Gate (of understanding) that was revealed to Moses. As it is stated, "You have made him a little lower than God," meaning that the Fiftieth Gate was not revealed to Moses until the moment of his passing. "And Moses died on Mount Nebo." The holy Shelah explains that "Nebo" (נבו) can be read as "Nun Bo" (נ' בו - the fiftieth is within it). Furthermore, the letters of the word "Neshamah" (נשמה - soul) spell "Nun Moshe" (נ' משה - the fifty of Moses). This shows that Moses merited the rectification of the Nuns (the fifties), and through this, Moshe Rabbeinu attained the Fiftieth Gate. Therefore, regarding the true tzaddik who merited the right side of the Nukva d'Pardashka, it is said: "Hashem brings death and gives life; He brings down to Sheol and raises up." For he merited the Divine Providence of the Chotama d'Atika Kadisha (the nose of the Holy Ancient One), from which flows the illumination of the resurrection of the dead. "And then a man will cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold." Because the moment the true tzaddik draws down illumination from the Atika Kadisha, from that very moment, all worldly desires are nullified, especially the lust for money. And then the true tzaddik merits the fulfillment of the verse: "To him who increases the government, and for peace without end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to establish it and to sustain it with justice and with righteousness, from now and forever; the zeal of Hashem of Hosts will perform this." Then the closed Mem (in the word לםרבה, symbolizing the concealed redemption) will be split open, and we will merit the revelation of Mashiach ben David. We will merit the Holy Temple of fire, which will never again be destroyed. And then we will merit the Sukkah of Leviathan, which hints at the building of the Third Holy Temple that will never be destroyed.
For the success of Udel bas Yehudis, that she should merit shalom bayis (marital harmony) and to raise her children in the path of our holy Rebbe and the path of the Rav of the generation, and for the complete healing of Morinu HaRav shlit"a.
B'Siyata Dishmaya (With the Help of Heaven) 1332
To merit on the day of the Hilula (anniversary of passing) of our holy Rebbe, from whom no secret is hidden, that an illumination from the Atika Kadisha (the Holy Ancient One) should be drawn upon us, that all worldly desires should be nullified, that the tzaddik should sit upon his throne and his kingdom, and that the Third Holy Temple of fire should descend and never be destroyed.
