A Prayer to Merit Preparation Before Study and to be Meticulous in the Mitzvah
of Honoring Parents
Master of the Universe, the Omnipotent One, before I begin to study, may I sit in awe and reverence, and know that I am about to study the Torah of God, the Torah that Moshe received from Sinai. May I remember at every single moment and second during my study the Ten Commandments, and specifically, "Honor your father and your mother." Through this, may I merit to always fulfill their will in the blink of an eye—whether it is taking out the trash, washing the dishes, washing the floor, or doing other chores.
