A Shiur for the Chatzos Kollel in Bnei Brak at the Home of Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

The Chatzos Kollel’s Holy Work ○ A Summary from the Shiur in the Home of The Rav Berland shlit"a

Every night at Chatzos in Bnei Brak, a “Chatzos Kollel” takes place in the “Torah V’Chaim” Beis Midrash, under the leadership of the elder of the Council of Torah Sages, the great gaon Rabbi Shimon Baadani shlit"a.

Each Wednesday, the holy group—those privileged to learn at midnight—gathers to hear a shiur in Kabbalah and the hidden Torah from the revered chassid Rabbi Shlomo Almaliach shlit"a, one of the students of The Rav Berland shlit"a.

These avreichim merited to enter further inward, into the holy shiur itself, last night—on the night of Rosh Chodesh, 1 Sivan. In the shiur, The Rav shlit"a spoke in Aggadah from the chapters of Tanach in Sefer Melachim II, and he revealed several new insights there, concerning Eliyahu HaNavi, Achav, and Izevel. Afterwards, The Rav spoke about the miracles Hashem performed for Sisera in the merit of Devorah the Prophetess. After that, he spoke from the Gemara in Maseches Sanhedrin 93, from the story of Achav ben Kolayah and Tzidkiyah ben Maaseyah, whom Nevuchadnetzar made like roasted kernels. Afterwards, he spoke about how the angels from the Upper Chariot accompany a person on all his paths. Below is a short excerpt from the shiur:

“When a person goes out on the road—he arrives from Ashdod—then three hundred thousand myriads of angels escort him. How does he not get into an accident? Because three hundred thousand myriads of angels [escort him]. After that, on the way back, three hundred and fifty myriads of eagles—angels in the form of eagles—escort him. Three hundred thousand and fifty myriads of eagles guard him from every watch; no accident can happen to him. A person travels to Jerusalem, travels to Ashdod…”

At the end, after more than fifty minutes, The Rav Berland shlit"a strengthened the avreichim with several additional points, and concluded the shiur with Kaddish accompanied by niggunim. The participants, uplifted and strengthened, then went out to Maariv together with The Rav Berland shlit"a, as on every evening, in the courtyard of the prayer hall.
