A Shiur for the Kollel Avreichim of “Shuvu Banim” in the Old City
at the Home of Rabbi Berland shlit"a

Coverage of the Shiur for the Avreichim who study Torah day and night ○ A summary from the shiur
These are the same avreichim who kill themselves in the tent of Torah, from midnight until the evening prayer with our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, just as our teacher, the Rav shlit"a, established for these avreichim forty-five years ago.
Those avreichim entered the shiur at the residence of our teacher, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, on the night of the 21st of Av before the Ma'ariv prayer. At the beginning of the shiur, our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, dealt with the laws of testimony and the subtleties required for the warning regarding the laws of capital punishment. Afterward, he spoke about utilizing time for Gemara. He then spoke about the developmental period of a child—at age 12, which is the most important time in life, and it is worthwhile for the child to invest as much as possible during this time. Afterward, he continued to speak on the aggadic portions of the Shas.
Following this, he expanded on the greatness of the Matteh Moshe and more. At the conclusion of the shiur, he spoke about the war of Ammon and Moab against Jehoshaphat (as brought in II Chronicles, chapter 20), regarding how, through song and thanksgiving, the children of Ammon and Moab died before them without them having to do a thing. He explained why the singers said only, "Give thanks to Hashem, for His kindness is everlasting," because when a gentile dies, one does not recite a song, just as Hashem said to the ministering angels at the Red Sea: 'The work of My hands is drowning in the sea...'
