A Shiur for the Residents of Ofakim at the Home of Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Shuvu Banim Activity in the City of Ofakim ○ Summary from the Lesson for Close Avreichim
Even in the southern city of Ofakim, they have merited to draw close to the Light of Lights, our holy Rebbe, of blessed memory, through the path of our teacher, Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a. In the city, there are a significant number of Litvish avreichim, students of the late Rabbi S.D. Pinkus zt"l, who merit to illuminate their souls and receive their vitality from our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a.
These individuals who have drawn close merited to enter into the inner sanctum this past Monday night, the 19th of Menachem-Av, for a special lesson of the words of the Living G-d from the mouth of our teacher, Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a.
At the beginning of the lesson, our teacher, the Rav shlit"a, spoke about the matter of the episode of the Golden Calf mentioned in Parshat Eikev. Afterward, he spoke about the importance and the virtue of hearing a lesson from the mouth of the tzaddik, and subsequently spoke about guarding one's eyes. He continued by discussing words of Aggadah from the Prophets and Writings, as well as the deed of Elijah on Mount Carmel. He concluded with the matter of the sale of Joseph, and mentioned Torah 4 regarding the fact that Judah's bones were rattling in the coffin. From the fact that Joseph merited to utilize his time in prison for dancing, our teacher the Rav said that a person can complete the entire Shas if they are in prison, and he mentioned the people who were arrested during the days of the underground movements and completed the Shas several times.
The strengthened avreichim left the home of our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, fortified for the remainder of the Bein HaZmanim period. There is no doubt that this lesson provided additional strength to begin the 'Elul term' with greater desire for the study of the holy Torah and the service of Hashem - so one of the avreichim tells us.
