A Woman Can Be Greater Than Moshe Rabbeinu! • The Daily Lesson from Rabbi
Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Before you is a summary of the topics from the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a – yesterday after the Maariv (evening) prayer, Monday night, the 26th of Kislev 5786, Parshat Miketz:
- The woman is the greatest of all. The main thing is the tikkun (rectification) of the Gevuros (spiritual severities/judgments); a woman possesses the sharpest senses. Sarah saw the true nature of Ishmael. Abraham saw that Ishmael had the potential to rectify the Gevuros.
- Yosef HaTzaddik (Joseph the Righteous) withstood his trial for 22 years.
- Among the nations, there is a death sentence for theft, as Yehuda (Judah) said to Yosef: "The one with whom the goblet is found shall die."
- The Etz Chaim (the primary work of the Arizal) states that the entire miracle of Chanukah occurred in the merit of Chanah.
- "Gara lo yagar" (a play on words regarding fear and sojourning) – "Yagar" refers to the duration of the Greek kingdom's rule, which lasted 213 years.
- Yochanan (the High Priest), instead of sacrificing a single pig (as the Greeks demanded), slaughtered a thousand "pigs" (referring to the Greek soldiers).
- "The bow of the mighty is broken, and those who stumbled are girded with strength" (I Samuel 2:4) – Chanah prayed 717 years before Chanukah that the Hasmoneans—the "stumbling" ones—would defeat the Greeks—the "mighty" ones.
- It is written in the Pirkei D'Rabbi Eliezer (an ancient Midrashic work) that the prayer of Chanah and the song of Devorah (Deborah) reach a higher spiritual level than that of Moshe Rabbeinu (Moses our Teacher). Every woman has the potential to be greater than Moshe Rabbeinu. All women can reach the level of Moshe.
- The "Gavia" (goblet) is the secret of 13 multiplied by 72, which equals the gematria (numerical value) of Mordechai and Esther, and Matityahu and his sons. This is because Mordechai and Esther were reincarnated in Matityahu and his sons.
