“And the Children Will Return to Their Border” • The Gaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a Praying at Rachel Imeinu’s Tomb on the Night of the Yahrtzeit, 5784

Last night, the Gaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a arrived to visit the resting place of Rachel Imeinu on the night of the yahrtzeit, 11 Marcheshvan 5784. As is known, this year—due to the security situation—Rachel’s Tomb is closed to the general public. Throughout the hours of the yahrtzeit, however, the great Torah sages of Israel and the Tzaddikim of the generation are being allowed to enter. Among all the great ones who came, The Rav Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a also arrived to pour out his heart and to pray for the Jewish people—for the healing of the wounded, for the return of the hostages, and for the victory of the Jewish people.

The Rav Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a arrived at the site close to 2:30 a.m. and began reciting three sets of The Tikkun HaKlali with melody and heartfelt tune. At the conclusion of the third Tikkun HaKlali, The Rav shlit"a recited Kaddish and kissed the tombstone, offering a quiet prayer for the salvation of the Jewish people. As he left, The Rav shlit"a blessed many of those who had come for the yahrtzeit. It should be noted that since the year 5778, The Rav shlit"a had not visited the tziyun on the day of the yahrtzeit.
