"And You Shall Do According to All That They Instruct You" • The Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a Voted 'Gimmel' as the Polls Opened

The Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a voted at dawn for the 'Agudat Yisrael' party - Gimmel (ג') for the Jerusalem Municipality.
Immediately after the Vatikin (sunrise prayer), the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a left his holy home for the polling station on Karl Netter Street in Jerusalem, accompanied by a royal convoy of vehicles. Upon arriving at the polling station, he repeated his clear instruction to the large crowd that had gathered to behold the purity of his holy countenance: to vote only for the 'Agudat Yisrael' party, whose symbol is Gimmel (ג'), for the Jerusalem Municipality.
Our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, entered the polling station and, moving from speech to action, fulfilled the mitzvah (commandment) of the day by voting for the Gimmel list - Agudat Yisrael for the Jerusalem Municipality, and on the yellow slip for the mayoralty, he voted for Mr. Moshe Lion.
The entire way from his departure to the polling station, he held the Gimmel (ג') slip in his hand and repeated over and over that one must vote only for the Gimmel party. Upon his exit, he was escorted by the large crowd with the singing of "For length of days and years of life shall they add to you," and he returned to his holy home.
