The Activities of the Organization “HaBen Yakir Li” ○ A Chanukah Gathering for Orphans at the Home of The Rav Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

“HaBen Yakir Li” is an organization for orphans, led by the esteemed avreich Rabbi Yehudah Kadush hy"v, who invests his time and his own money for those who have no one to gladden their hearts. For this reason, he established an organization dedicated to bringing joy to the orphaned children of the Shuvu Banim community—receiving encouragement and strength from The Rav Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a.

Last night, on the third candle of Chanukah, a gathering for the orphans’ organization took place at the home of The Rav Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. About two hours after the Chanukah candle-lighting in his home, The Rav shlit"a came out to the living room, to the sound of singing and dancing by the precious orphaned children who were seated around a table set with various sufganiyot and foods. After several minutes of Chanukah melodies and songs of thanksgiving to Hashem, The Rav shlit"a began delivering a lesson to the orphaned children—more than half an hour of fiery words of Torah about the matters of Chanukah and the secrets contained within Chanukah. After the lesson, The Rav shlit"a personally gave each orphaned child Chanukah money, showing interest in each child’s situation, strengthening and gladdening him, and blessing him with “A happy Chanukah.”
