From the Age of 15 I Cried Out, "Where is the Tzaddik?"

Tuesday, 19th of Kislev 5786 – "Moshe certainly moves the sun"

These are his holy words:

It is written in Maseches Sukkah (page 28) that Hillel the Elder had 80 students; among them, thirty students were capable of moving the sun. If this is so, Moshe (Moses) certainly moves the sun.

Thirty of them move the sun just like Yehoshua (Joshua). Moshe also moved the sun during Matan Torah (the giving of the Torah); during Matan Torah, the day lasted 72 hours. There were the Ten Commandments, and with every word spoken, they [the souls of Israel] flew 12 mil (a measurement of distance); they flew three parsas (a measurement of distance) with every commandment.

Every mil is an hour and a fifth. It is written that bein hashmashos (twilight) is three-quarters of a mil (according to the opinion of Rabbi Yehuda). Therefore, one who wants to hurry can perform Havdalah (the ceremony marking the end of the Sabbath) after 18 minutes. However, we perform Havdalah after 40 minutes, following the ruling of the Chazon Ish (Rabbi Avraham Yeshaya Karelitz zt"l).

If someone rides a scooter, they should do so carefully; whoever rides a scooter must ride with caution. I didn't go to the field with a scooter; I went on foot. I went to the field my whole life; from the age of 15 and a half, I went to the fields. From the age of 15 and a half, I ascended Mount Carmel and cried out—"Where is the Tzaddik (righteous leader)? Where is the Tzaddik?"

The Carmel is the most beautiful place in the world. The commander told Yaakov Meridor (a leader of the Irgun), "I was previously a commander in Haifa, and it is the most beautiful place in the world." Someone once traveled to the Alps and saw a sign there that said, "Have you been to the Hermon yet?" He reached a height of five thousand meters only to see it written: "Travel to the Hermon, there is snow there all year round."

A person sees the Hermon and everything is white—"If your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow" (Isaiah 1:18). When snow falls, it is a sign that all transgressions have already been forgiven.
