Hilulah of Reuven Ben Ya’akov – New Prayer from Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlit”a

TONIGHT (SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY) 14 KISLEV, IS THE HILULAH OF REUVEN BEN YA’AKOV.  BELOW IS A NEW PRAYER WHICH MOREINU HARAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLIT”A WROTE LAST WEEK FOR THIS YEAR’S HILULAH:

Ribono Shel Olam – Master of the World, Who can do everything, and that nothing can impede [Your] purpose from You, on this holy and awesome day, which is the Yahrzeit of Reuven ben Ya’akov, let us merit to the blessing which Reuven merited to (Devarim 33:6): “May Reuven live and not die, although his ranks are numbered.”  May we merit to be like the tribe of Reuven, who was the firstborn of Ya’akov Avinu, who rescued Yosef from the pit, and fought with all the brothers with strength, might, and power to save his innocent brother, and struggled and toiled to establish justice on its foundation, and succeeded already at the age of five to bring mandrakes from the field, and not to benefit from theft, chas v’shalom, and he was zealous for his mother – Leah, and to sacrifice his soul for the sake of honoring father and mother, and through this to fulfill the law (Shemot 20:11): “Honor your father and your mother,” and in the merit of this, he received the blessing, “May Reuven live and not die, although his ranks are numbered.”
