Last Thursday, the 12th of Sivan, a number of young avreichim from the “Sha’arei Hora’ah” Kollel of the Shuvu Banim institutions entered into the inner sanctum to receive a certificate and a blessing from The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

These distinguished avreichim toiled throughout the past winter zman to master, understand, and render halachic rulings in the laws of mixtures (Hilchos Ta’arovos). They were also tested on this in official rabbinical examinations. In honor of their success on the exam, the talmidei chachamim received a certificate and a stipend from The Rav shlit"a, as mentioned. After the distribution of the certificates and stipends, The Rav shlit"a strengthened the avreichim to continue and persevere in their Torah learning. In addition, the Rosh HaKollel, Rabbi Dovid Weinstock shlit"a, presented The Rav shlit"a with a letter written by the great gaon Rabbi Yisrael Borzikovsky shlit"a, a halachic decisor and dayan of the holy city of Jerusalem. In his letter, he wrote about the outstanding level of these distinguished avreichim whom he examined in Hilchos Ta’arovos, and he noted how deeply impressed he was by their broad mastery—how each of the avreichim knew how to draw out, from all the rulings of the Tur together with all its commentaries, the practical halachic conclusion.
