Listen: A Spine-Tingling Testimony from the Trip to the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a
A spine-tingling testimony reached us regarding the deeds of our Teacher, the Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, during the days of his stay in Holland; here is a portion of it.

"In the terminal, we were looking to join Breslov Chassidim so as not to travel alone," begins Yisrael Meir in the story of his journey to Holland. "Instead, we found a couple who do not keep the Mitzvos, who were also traveling to the Rav shlit"a. I spoke with the young man, who told me that they have been living together for 17 years without Halachic sanction (not married) and there is no chance in the world that they will get married, because her family opposes it and they have the power to do harm. He heard about the Rav shlit"a, contacted him, and the Rav shlit"a invited him to come to him in Holland."

"To our surprise, even though he said there was no chance they would marry, that very night, the Rav shlit"a already married them. During the Sheva Brachos (seven wedding blessings), the groom told me that he was in shock from his meeting with the Rav shlit"a. It turns out that the Rav shlit"a told him to change his surname from Cohen, because he is not a Cohen. 'If you don't believe me, ask your father,' the Rav shlit"a answered him."

"It turned out that his father, a Cohen, married a divorcee, and therefore his status is that of a Chalal (one disqualified from the priesthood) and there is no continuation of the Kehunah (priesthood). Additionally, the Rav shlit"a told him, 'In another two hours, you are getting married here.' The woman was frightened by this, but the Rav shlit"a guided him on how to speak to her heart."

We want to add regarding all kinds of rumors and baseless talk that have come out regarding the fact that the Rav shlit"a performed weddings for couples abroad. Any person of understanding sees that the deeds of the Rav shlit"a are measured and directed with hairsbreadth precision. The Rav shlit"a cares here for couples who, in almost any other scenario, would not have gotten married, and through this, he brings them under the wings of the Shechinah (Divine Presence). Baruch Hashem that these matters are being publicized and coming directly from their source.
