ONLY AGUDA FIGHTS FOR THE SHABBAT! THE PSAK OF SHUVU BANIM IS TO CHOOSE ONLY AGUDA! • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Before you is the full daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a - yesterday after the Maariv (evening) prayer, Sunday, Parshas Ki Tisa, the night of the 17th of Adar I:

"It is written in the Parsha (Torah portion), 'Each man with his sword on his thigh' (Exodus 32:27). Everyone needs to take a sword on their thigh—today, these are the voting slips. Today we fight with voting slips; in the past, they fought with swords. Today, it was decided that instead of killing one another or beheading, [then] everyone puts in a voting slip. We are missing another thousand votes for the final seat, for one more representative for Aguda (Agudat Yisrael party). To bring another thousand votes, everyone must call ten more people. Everyone from Shuvu Banim [should call] his grandmother, his grandfather, his uncles, his neighbors. Everyone wants to vote Aguda, everyone. Even Teddy [Kollek, former mayor of Jerusalem] said he wanted to vote Aguda. It is written in the book of Rabbi Aryeh Levin. He said, 'I want to go and put on Tefillin (phylacteries), I'm just [afraid] they will say I've gone crazy. But if not for that, I would have already put on Tefillin.' I met many IDF commanders, Generals and Brigadier Generals, who started putting on Tefillin. [They said] we always wanted to put on Tefillin, but only shame prevented us. But this is the aspiration of every Jew—to put on Tefillin; the aspiration of every Jew is to keep Shabbat (the Sabbath). Every Jew has a Divine soul; there is only one G-d. 'Remember the Shabbat day to sanctify it.' And only Aguda fights for the Shabbat, for [the closing of] non-kosher shops. All the other parties are willing to open a non-kosher shop, as long as the secular will vote [for them]. Those who came from Russia, they open non-kosher shops. And everyone is willing—everyone wants to attract the Russians to them, so they are willing to open non-kosher shops. But only Aguda is the only one that fights. This is the psak (halachic ruling) of all the Gedolei HaDor (greatest Torah leaders of the generation), and the psak of Shuvu Banim is that we only choose Aguda, not any other party. Everyone must bring—there are thirty hours [left]. Until the closing of the polls at ten at night, we have exactly forty-eight hours. Everyone needs to see to it to bring ten more people, so that we can bring another thousand votes so we will have one more representative."‏.
