A wonderful and comprehensive lesson from our teacher, the Gaon and Tzaddik, Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a, from the 6th of Tishrei 5781, delivered from Tzalmon.

"The blessings of your father have surpassed the blessings of my parents, up to the desire of the eternal hills; they shall be for the head of Joseph and for the crown of the one set apart from his brothers" (Genesis 49:26). Joseph is the crown (kadkod); on Yom Kippur, we ascend to the crown, to the Atika Kadisha (the Holy Ancient One). During Ne'ilah, we all ascend to the 'Will' (Ratzon), and the Will is the highest level possible—the main thing is the Will.

From the moment Esther was born, she was fire. "Eat delicacies and drink sweets" (Ezra the Scribe said to the public on Rosh Hashanah), therefore Rosh Hashanah is a facet of Purim; in both, the sending of portions (mishloach manot) is mentioned. In the future, Yom Kippur will be like Purim. Now, Purim shines more because the decree "from youth to elder, children and women in one day" was annulled. Purim is "they fulfilled and accepted" (kiymu ve-kiblu), that the people of Israel accepted the Torah anew. A person needs Miriam's Well! The clouds do not move until Miriam is at the head of the camp. Miriam was entirely fire. Everything must be in holiness without any lust. To bring righteous children without lust, otherwise the child will not be able to study Torah; he will have screens, sit for 5 minutes, and immediately go to the bathroom and run outside...
