A Prayer to Wake Up Every Night for Chatzos
Master of the Universe, the Almighty, grant me the merit to always wake up for Chatzos (midnight prayer), and may I not miss a single day of my life without waking up for Chatzos, just as King David, peace be upon him, said, "At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You for Your righteous judgments." As the Gemara says in Berachos 3b: "Midnight never passed by David while he was asleep." And through this, may all the angels of the Divine Chariot descend and accompany me by day (יומם = 96) and by night (ולילה = 81), which equals 177; [namely the angels] Michael (101), Gabriel (246), Raphael (311), and Nuriel (297), which equals 955. And in the merit of this, may I merit to be like Mordechai (294) and Esther (661), which equals 955, [and] like Mattisyahu (861) and his sons (ובניו = 74), which equals 955. And all my days, may I be in a state of humility (בענוה = 133) and lowliness (ושפלות = 822), which equals 955. And through this, may I merit to be like Serach (508) the daughter of (בת = 402) Asher (501), which equals 1411, who entered with her physical body into the Garden of (לגן = 53) Eden (124), which equals 177. And may I merit to subdue the 11 (י"א = 11) chieftains of Esau and the 12 princes of Ishmael. And may the verse be fulfilled in me: "And it was turned about, that (אשר = 501) they should rule (ישלטו = 355), the Jews (היהודים = 80), themselves (המה = 50), over those who hated them (בשונאיהם = 414)," which equals 1414.
