Prayer Before the Second Meal of Shabbat Corresponding to Avraham
Please, Hashem, Healer of the sick, and Reviver of the dead (gematria 490), grant us the merit to see during the Second Meal of Shabbat—which is drawn from Atika Kadisha (the Holy Ancient One, the highest level of Divine will)—the resurrection of the dead, eye to eye. For during the Second Meal, it is fulfilled that then "He will roar mightily over His dwelling place," and then it is fulfilled: "And His kingship rules over all." Then there is a unification of Rachel and Leah, and through this, "the mighty men of Moab are gripped with trembling" (gematria 274). This is the secret of what the Targum (Aramaic translation) says, that Mashiach will come from Migdal Eder (the Tower of the Flock). For through the roars that we roar in the singing of the Second Meal, we awaken Atika Kadisha to bestow an infinite flow of abundance—all the healings, up to the resurrection of the dead—and to bestow the light of the seven days of creation anew, because we ascend above the Ein Sof (the Infinite). Then we see the great and avenging hand: "Are You not the One who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; who made the depths of the sea a path for the redeemed to cross?" For through the Second Meal of Shabbat, we merit: "Awake, awake, clothe yourself with strength, O arm of Hashem; awake as in the days of old, the generations of eternity. Are You not the One who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the sea monster?" And through the Second Meal, may I merit the verse: "And the ransomed of Hashem shall return, and come to Zion with joyful shouting; and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."
