Rabbi Hirari zt"l Said
"He Refuses to Place the Knishta Chada Bulletin of Rav Berland in the Synagogue?! Go Check if He is a Mamzer"

"In the beginning, in one of the first editions of the 'Knishta Chada' pamphlet, a gabbai in one of the synagogues in Kfar Shalem refused to allow the pamphlets to be placed in the synagogue. They went to Rabbi Chirari zt"l and told him that in all the synagogues they were accepting the 'Knishta Chada' pamphlet, and only the gabbai of one of the synagogues was refusing. Rabbi Chirari replied and said, 'Go check if that gabbai is not a mamzer.'"
"They went to check the details of that gabbai at the municipality, but even though the person checking had connections at the municipality, suddenly, in this matter, they prevented him from obtaining the details of that synagogue gabbai. On the next occasion that they came to Rabbi Chirari zt"l, they told him that they had gone to the municipality but they would not allow them to see the gabbai's details. Rabbi Chirari replied firmly, 'I told you he is a mamzer, why are you asking questions?!'"
"Even though the answer was firm, they continued to press Rabbi Chirari zt"l: 'But Rabbi, just because he won't let the 'Knishta Chada' pamphlet about Rav Berland shlit"a be put out, is he a mamzer for that reason?!'"
"Rabbi Chirari zt"l replied: 'I will tell you. In the past, I used to go to the holy tzaddik Rabbi Fish zt"l, even before he was revealed to the world, and I would study with him alone. It is known that there was an iron rule that Rabbi Fish never spoke words of Torah, other than stories of tzaddikim, in front of the public. And yet, on that day that I arrived, Rabbi Fish delivered a Torah discourse for about an hour and a half. When the people left, I approached Rabbi Fish and expressed my wonder as to what had happened that he spoke Torah before the public. Rabbi Fish said to me (Rabbi Chirari testifies), 'This Jew (His Holiness, the great tzaddik Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a) is here in this world for the second time. The first time was during the Second Temple period, and now this is his second time.' Now do you understand why I said that anyone who is not prepared to accept the 'Knishta Chada' pamphlets about Rav Berland shlit"a is a mamzer?'"
"When I told this story in the name of Rabbi Chirari zt"l, he was still alive. The personal gabbai of Rabbi Chirari heard these things and said that he testifies that these things are all true and established."
"For me, these things connect with the words of the Mekubal, the great tzaddik Rabbi Dov Kook shlit"a, who said about Rav Berland shlit"a: 'He is the soul of Eliezer the Great, and it is known that Rabbi Eliezer ben Hyrcanus lived during the time of the destruction of the Second Temple.' And behold, the words of the tzaddikim, Rabbi Chirari zt"l and Rabbi Dov Kook shlit"a, who seemingly did not hear one another, yet their testimony is one."
