Rabbi Meir Shlomo zt"l with a Message from the Upper World on the Importance of
the Assembly in Hebron

Rabbi Meir Shlomo zt"l is no longer with us in body, but his Torah and his words continue to resonate after him, continuing to captivate with their truth those who incline their ears and hearts. Here are words that Rabbi Shlomo zt"l delivered about three years ago, which are even more relevant for us today. As someone who served hidden and famous tzaddikim all the days of his life, Rabbi Shlomo comes and impresses upon us the immense importance of joining the assembly of awakening and prayer in Hebron.
"I want to speak a few words about the prayer assembly in Hebron that the Gaon and Tzaddik Rav Berland shlit"a has asked all of us to come and stand at and pray regarding the entire situation we are in. We know that the Da'at Torah belongs to the great leaders of the generation, the tzaddikim whose entire days are spent in Torah and prayer, in immense holiness. It is written in the prophet Amos (3:7), 'For Hashem will do nothing without revealing His secret to His servants the prophets.' To those responsible for the generation, Hashem reveals His secrets, and they know the way to annul the decree."
"There are great leaders of the generation among the Lithuanians, the Chassidim, etc., and certainly the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a is one of the great leaders of the generation. Already 55 years ago, when he was a young avrech, the holy Steipler noticed him and held him in very high regard, and since then, throughout all the years, he has been engaged in Torah and prayer with immense exertion. And now, in recent years, he has added another dimension of suffering that he has taken upon himself. And certainly, all of this is only to annul decrees upon the people of Israel."
"Now the Gaon and Tzaddik asks us for help in order to annul the terrible decrees, and who can know what a day may bring. We do not know what is revealed and shown to the tzaddik, and he, in the greatness of his holiness and righteousness, asks us for help. He does not ask us for self-affliction or fasts, but for prayer. A prayer assembly at the holy Patriarchs, on such a holy day and in such a holy place, he asks us for help. Pray the prayers needed for all the people of Israel; all the concerns of the Gaon and Tzaddik Rav Berland are only the people of Israel, for whom he sacrifices himself day and night."
"No one can exempt themselves when such a Gaon and holy man asks for help. The matter does not concern only a specific sector—as it seems that it is shown to the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a that a terrible decree must be annulled, we need immense mercy here. Therefore, whoever can act among their friends and in their surrounding circle, should explain the importance of these matters."
