Rav Pinto - Because They Disgrace the Torah Scholar, the Fire of the Plague Has Come

"Whoever harms the sages should be ostracized due to repulsion! For this severe plague is because of one Torah scholar who is being disgraced," these are the words of the righteous Rav Yoshiyahu Pinto shlit"a that we brought yesterday. Now Rav Pinto shlit"a continues to explain who is that Torah scholar because of whom this severe plague and all these sufferings have come to the world. The whole world is in lockdown, Torah scholars are sick and dying, livelihood has become difficult for everyone, with more than a million becoming unemployed and no one sees where all this is going to end."

"The angel created by the evil of the world, by lashon hara, by "Cursed is he who strikes his neighbor secretly" (Deuteronomy 27:24), by the disgrace that one disgraces another, by one who causes pain to another. We have created this evil angel over the years, and we have raised it, fattened it, and strengthened it. Every time a person caused pain to his friend, a person sat at home and suddenly his friend wrote something bad about him, you caused him pain, you created evil, you added something to the evil angel. A person sat and did nothing to you, suddenly you caused him pain, you gave more power to the evil angel."

"Hashem can wait for decades with a person, a person can do all the evil in the world and Hashem goes on watching, and watching.., Hashem has patience like no other. There is no reality in the world of patience like that of Hashem, but when you fill the measure, suddenly in one day everything turns over and becomes a destruction like no other."

"Therefore, a person needs to be wise and reduce the power of this evil angel that was created over the years by all the evil we have done, all the evil the world has done. Each of us has a part in this, every time we enjoyed the pain of another, every time we laughed when it hurt another. Every time we enjoyed when things were not good for another, we need to break our hearts with a great breaking, and every breaking from the heart of each and every one of us, and acceptance upon ourselves of more Torah study, acceptance of more simplicity, acceptance of more humility, every acceptance upon ourselves to close our ears, our tongue about tzaddikim, lashon hara about Torah scholars. To know that there is no such thing, everyone who is a Torah scholar, everyone who is a bar oyan must be honored with great respect."

"What has become today? I am close to this Rav so I hate that Rav, I am close to this Rav so I am against that Rav. It is forbidden, Beit Hillel and Beit Shammai were the greatest disputants in the Talmud, they would dispute in the Beit Midrash, but they would leave the Beit Midrash and marry each other, they loved each other. What is a dispute for the sake of Heaven, this is the dispute of Hillel and Shammai, a dispute not for the sake of Heaven is the dispute of Korach and his assembly."

"A person must be careful not to be in a dispute, do not enter into the dispute of the great ones, the dispute, the pain, the bad things and the bad words - these things have brought this great disaster."

"The holy Torah says that a plague comes to the world like for things of leprosy, for lashon hara, for perversion of justice. What perversion of justice, in the many sins, is there today in the world! A person did nothing, they take him to prison, humiliate him, bind him, disgrace him. A person did nothing, they take him in disgrace in the morning from his home, they spill his blood, they spill the blood of his family. They kill people in their lives, they judge people in their lives."

"Every such thing adds fire to the great fire that created an evil angel."
