The 34th Yahrzeit of the Leader of Our Community, the Tzaddik Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Bender zy"a • A New Letter from His Outstanding Student, the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Today, the 22nd of Tammuz, is the 34th yahrzeit of the elder of the Breslov Chassidim—faithful transmitter of the tradition and the one who rebuilt and established the banner of Breslov in the last generation—Rabbi Levi Yitzchak, son of Rabbi Avraham Noach Bender zt"l. Before you is a letter written today by his outstanding student, The Rav Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, about his greatness and his spiritual stature—for it was through his merit alone that Breslov Chassidus rose again after the Holocaust. This is written on the completion of 34 years since the passing of his Rav and teacher:
Yahrzeit of the Gaon and Tzaddik, R’ Levi Yitzchak zt"l
The greatest Tzaddik of the last generation was the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Levi Yitzchak zt"l. He raised up the banner of Torah and rebuilt the entire Breslov Chassidus anew after the terrible Holocaust, which did not leave of the Chassidus even a trace. With sublime self-sacrifice, he merited to draw down the light of Chassidus even in a bleak and dark generation like ours. He re-infused the light of Rebbe Nachman into the hearts of the youth and the new young men—until the light of our holy and awesome Rebbe was kindled within them, for he is alive and enduring forever and ever, for all eternity.
With the blessing of Torah and with great love Eliezer Berland
