The Annual Siyum HaShas at the Residence of Our Teacher, the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

The students of the eight-pages-a-day study schedule established by our teacher, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days), merited to complete the Shas (the entire Talmud) today in just one year.

In the daily lesson given as part of the evening Kollel (institute for advanced Torah study) at the Kever Rachel (Tomb of Rachel) institutions, the avreichim (married Torah students) arrive every day and diligently study eight pages each day, from after the Maariv (evening) prayer with our teacher, Rabbi Berland shlit"a, until the small hours of the night.

For the Siyum HaShas (completion of the Talmud), nearly twenty avreichim entered the residence of our teacher, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, and completed the entire Shas together with him. The Maggid Shiur (lecturer), Rabbi Nachman Menachem, may Hashem protect and sustain him, finished the entire Shas with the final page of Maseches Niddah (Tractate Niddah), and after the "Hadran Alach" (concluding prayer) for Maseches Niddah and the entire Shas—our teacher, the Rav shlit"a, recited the Kaddish (sanctification prayer) customarily said at the completion of a tractate, and blessed them with "Mazel Tov" for the completion of the Torah!
