From the book - 'He is the Rabbi and the Student'
"The Yahrtzeit of the Rebbe and Rebbe Natan, when it is possible to draw down the light of the Rebbe, the light of Rebbe Natan, the light of the faces of the tzaddikim."
"Only if a person casts away his intellect completely—what is called casting away the intellect? To begin learning Gemara, not to say 'I have no money and my wife wants me to work.' No wife wants her husband to work; you are insulting the wife, hurting her, you are calling her ugly names—therefore, she wants you to go to work. 'You insulted me, so go bring me money.'"
"A person must always tell his wife, 'You are the smartest woman in the world, the most intelligent woman in the world.' If a woman is willing for her husband to sit and learn, then she is the smartest woman in the world, and the moment he insults her, Heaven forbid, suddenly everything turns upside down."
"If a person says good words to his wife, she will let him learn, she will let him pray, and she will not tell him to go to work. This is explicit Gemara; one must say, 'There is no woman as important as you,' 'Many daughters have done valiantly, but you excel them all' (Proverbs 31:29). Always say these words to her. As the Zohar says, speak words of praise to the wife at home, then the wife will agree that he should learn; if he said other words to her, then she drives him away from his learning."
"Afterwards, the person says, 'I have a bad wife'—you are the bad one, not her."
