The Decree Has Been Cancelled! • The Daily Lesson from the Holy Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Here is the complete daily lesson as delivered by The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, on Monday night, the eve of 12 Elul, Parshas Ki Savo, after the Ma’ariv prayer:
“The moment Miriam heard the awesome and terrifying prophecy—that Moshe would die—she fainted on the spot. A brain event; they called emergency services, they brought Chilik Stern, and with great difficulty they revived her. Then she gathered all seventy elders and asked them: ‘Advice—what do we do? Moshe is going to die—what do we do? Give me counsel! How do we sweeten this decree?!’ They told her: ‘First, travel to Berditchev. After that, to Mezhibuzh. And after that, travel to Uman. And you will certainly already see salvation—Rebbe Nachman will do some salvation for you.’ That is what she did. She organized fifty women for you—she arranged fifty women. They took a private plane and flew to Berditchev. When they were there, they recited seven times The Tikkun HaKlali. Then they asked Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev: ‘What will be with this decree—what will be?’ He said to them: ‘Go to Mezhibuzh. I can’t do anything. There is a decree that Moshe will die; I cannot do anything at all. Go to Mezhibuzh, to the Baal Shem Tov.’ Fine. They flew to the Baal Shem Tov. They took a helicopter with fifty seats and flew to Mezhibuzh. They arrived in Mezhibuzh and recited seven times The Tikkun HaKlali. They asked the Baal Shem Tov: ‘What do we do?’ He said: ‘Travel to Rebbe Nachman—only Rebbe Nachman can sweeten this!’ Fine. They flew to Rebbe Nachman. They took another helicopter; it cost each one another hundred dollars. And there they didn’t say three times The Tikkun HaKlali—they said fourteen times The Tikkun HaKlali. A Bas Kol came forth: ‘The decree has been cancelled! Moshe will not die—Moshe will live until one hundred and twenty!’ And may we merit the complete Geulah speedily in our days, Amen!””.
