The Elder of the Council of Torah Sages
Rabbi Shimon Baadani shlit"a Cries Out About the Suffering of Rabbi Berland shlit"a

The Elder of the Council of Torah Sages, the Gaon Rabbi Shimon Baadani shlit"a, cries out from the depths of his heart regarding the cruel persecution and the suffering being inflicted upon our teacher, the holy Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a.
"It is a crime that they are holding him in such a harsh manner; it is cruelty, it is a crime and wickedness to do such things." Then, Rabbi Baadani shlit"a turns to strengthen the holy community of 'Shuvu Banim': "'And they cried out to Hashem in their distress, and He saved them from their straits,' and Hashem will save him."
These are his holy words:
Rabbi Baadani: "How is Rav Berland?"
"Rav Berland underwent open-heart surgery, and he is very weak."
Rabbi Baadani: "Hashem should protect him; we need much Heavenly mercy. Therefore, the community rabbis decided to go to Hebron in their thousands to recite Psalms there."
Rabbi Baadani: "'And they cried out to Hashem in their distress, and He saved them from their straits,' and Hashem will save him. We must truly cry out..., such a crime and wickedness, to torture such an elderly Jew..., it is murder."
"Hashem will help; we must pray that Hashem will subdue them, that they will treat him in the best way possible in the hospital, and recite Psalms so that Hashem will have mercy."
"..., these are the people of the wicked Esau who are persecuting him so harshly now."
