The Lesson of The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, Last Night After Ma’ariv

The lesson of The Rav, Rabbi Berland shlit"a, delivered last night—Tuesday night, the eve of the 24th of Iyar, Parshas Bamidbar—after the Counting of the Omer

Then Hashem asks Eliyahu HaNavi, “What are you doing here, Eliyahu?” (Melachim II 19:13)—What are you doing here? How did you get past the guards? How did you enter without permission? Because he had the secret key that opens the gate, and that is how he entered inside. And who enters there? Only two. That was Moshe and Eliyahu HaNavi. Only two entered—more is impossible; there is no room for more.

The lesson begins at 1:29:16

And then Hashem asked him: What are you doing here? How did you arrive here—“What are you doing here?” What did he answer? “The Children of Israel have abandoned Your covenant” (ibid., v. 10) Hashem said to him: “They abandoned Your covenant”!? What do you mean?! They all do Bris Milah—so why would you say they abandoned Your covenant? “Because the Children of Israel have abandoned Your covenant… and they killed Your prophets.” They didn’t kill any prophets! Only Izevel killed—and it is forbidden to touch Izevel. Why is it forbidden to touch Izevel? Because she dances all day—she keeps springing up on her heels. The dogs did not eat the heels, and they did not eat the palms of the hands. The moment a person springs upward, the main thing is the springing itself! That a person lifts and springs on the heels—that is the whole point. The moment people are springing up on their heels, immediately the complete Geulah will come!
