'The Miracle of the Splitting of the Sea' — How Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a Responded to the Election Results

Anyone who followed the recent shiurim of The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, could not miss the fact that this time the elections were something deeply personal to The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. He spoke about the importance of voting and said that this is a real war over Judaism, the Torah, and those who learn it.
The grandson and gabbai of The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a — R' Dov Zucker — relates in an interview on the information line about The Rav shlit"a’s reaction to the results, which showed that the Torah-supporting bloc achieved a true victory. Below is an excerpt from the interview:
“The Rav responded to the results: there was a miracle like the Splitting of the Sea here. That was his first expression. The Rav asked which of the parties that oppose the Torah did not pass [the threshold], and they saw that it truly mattered to the Rav that the honor of the Torah be uplifted. Everyone saw that everywhere among the Rav’s students, the standing of ‘Agudah’ was elevated.” “After that, The Rav shlit"a expanded and said that every Jew respects the Torah—because even those who voted for parties that oppose the Torah did so only because they were misled…”

Afterwards, he explained at length what was different about this election campaign compared to the others, and why The Rav shlit"a spoke so sharply about the matter of the elections; “You could say that the Rav fought with himself in an unprecedented way. All these years the Rav spoke about elections, but now there was an element of war. As the Rav emphasized, it’s not elections—it’s war. There was a Jew who had never gone to vote, and he went to vote. He told me: as far as I’m concerned, I didn’t vote in elections—this isn’t elections, it’s war. I went to fight; I went to throw a stone at the head of the Sitra Achra by going to vote. And you can say it truly had an effect—such a mobilization. Today they called me from Agudah to say a special thank-you to the Rav and to the community for the tremendous mobilization. They feel it in practice in the votes—that the Rav brought this about, both spiritually and physically.”
After that, he spoke about the spiritual impact that The Rav shlit"a brought about—that there were truly open miracles in these elections. He also spoke about how The Rav shlit"a specifically rose early to vote, as can be heard in the full interview.
