The Mothers in Egypt Saw Miracles Every Moment, They Saw Hashem Face to Face • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Before you is a summary of the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days) – yesterday after the Maariv (evening) prayer, Monday night, the 1st of Iyar, Parshas Tazria-Metzora:
Yesterday we received the mochin (spiritual consciousness) of Abba (Father/Wisdom), today the mochin of Imma (Mother/Understanding). Tomorrow we will receive the mochin of katnus (diminished spiritual state) of Abba and Imma. On Wednesday, it is the mochin of Imma. Friday is the peak of katnus. They said to Moshe, "Where have you stuck us? In the desert facing the sea." "We remember the fish that we ate for free [in Egypt]." Where did they get fish for free? They got beatings for free! Rather, when the mothers would go out to draw water, fish would jump into their jugs. The mothers did not want to divorce [their husbands despite the decrees]. They saw the miracles face to face. They [the Egyptians] asked the mothers, "Where is the child?" They brought plows, but it didn't help at all; the children were swallowed up into the ground [to be protected]. These were the "athletes" who ran to the field. But there were women who stayed home and threw their children into the Nile [out of despair], but for the women who prayed, Hashem told the angels, "Run before the Egyptians." But there were women who were neither here nor there, so they placed the children in the wall [as bricks]. The women prayed and cried beneath the wall, and then "the snare was broken" (a reference to the miracle of the children being saved). Women have a million times more sechel (intellect/wisdom) than men. Bruriah learned in one day what others learn in three years. There were four hundred camels [carrying the weight of the books] of Names, Tehillim (Psalms), and Divrei HaYamim (Chronicles). But this was hidden away because they wanted people to study Gemara (Talmud) and the Ketzos HaChoshen (a classic work of Jewish law). If David HaMelech (King David) had lived until a hundred, the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple) would not have been destroyed, but Adam HaRishon (the first man) only gave him seventy years. We have exactly four hours until Chatzos (midnight). Every girl should say the entire Tehillim (Psalms), Mishlei (Proverbs), Iyov (Job), Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah), Divrei HaYamim (Chronicles), and Yeshayahu (Isaiah)—together this is 166 chapters. Today is the last "short" Chatzos; from tomorrow we also say Tikkun Rachel (the prayer of lamentation for the Shechinah). Those who go to seminaries should wake up at 8:30. After that, they should finish the Tehillim. The boys must finish the chapter of "Chelek" (the 11th chapter of Tractate Sanhedrin). These are all stories about Achyah ben Kolayah who was roasted [by the King of Babylon]. And how is this possible? Is it not a Torah prohibition? For it is written, "You shall not eat parched bread (kali) or fresh grain (karmel)" [the Rav makes a play on words between 'roasted' and the forbidden grain]. And they also roasted Chizkiyahu ben Maaseiah. Everyone should read this in the Gemara in Sanhedrin on page 93. Everyone should learn Likutey Halachos with his wife—Hilchos Pikadon 4, section 8, page 128, regarding the order of the mochin (spiritual consciousness) during the Sefirah (Counting of the Omer). On the sixth day of the Sefirah, the Splitting of the Red Sea occurred; all the screens are torn away from the mochin, and everyone should finish the entire Shas (the whole Talmud) by Shavuos.
