The Posek, the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Brandsdorfer shlit"a, at the Mechiras Chametz (Selling of the Chametz) Ceremony with Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Just a few hours before Bedikas Chametz (the search for leaven), the great Gaon, the Gaavad (Head of the Rabbinical Court) of Heichal Hora'ah, Rabbi Moshe Brandsdorfer shlit"a, ascended to the residence of the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a in order to conduct the ceremony of "Mechiras Chametz" (selling of the chametz).

During the ceremony, the Rav shlit"a signed the Mechiras Chametz authorization document for the "Heichal Hora'ah" Beis Hora'ah (halachic ruling center) headed by Rabbi Brandsdorfer. Rabbi Brandsdorfer presented his hat to the Rav shlit"a so that he could perform a formal kinyan (halachic act of acquisition) in accordance with Jewish law.

Afterwards, the Rav shlit"a conversed with the Gaavad of Heichal Hora'ah, discussing words of Aggadah (homiletic teachings) and the halachos (laws) of Pesach. Also present at the ceremony was the Dayan and Moreh Tzedek (halachic decisor) of our community, the Gaon Rabbi Nachman Cohen shlit"a.
