The Righteous Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a Announces
"The Decree Has Been Annulled"

Before the arrival of the month of Nissan, our teacher, the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, spoke at length about the fact that there were harsh judgments in the world. The Rav repeatedly requested to hold a great prayer assembly at the Cave of the Patriarchs. There, beside the graves of the Patriarchs and together with the masses of the House of Israel, the Rav shlit"a believed that it was possible to annul and sweeten the decree. The Rav repeatedly warned in various messages to the public that the decree was severe and that the obligation to participate in the prayer gathering was of the utmost importance.
Beyond the call to hold the prayer assembly, the Rav instructed his followers that they must strengthen themselves spiritually, accept fasts upon themselves, and increase the frequency of their prayers for the healing of the tzaddik and the success of the nation. And behold, over ten thousand worshipers arrived at the assembly, recited the Book of Psalms together, danced with holy enthusiasm to sweeten the judgments, and recited the ten psalms of the 'Tikkun HaKlali' together with Rav Berland.
Many good people wanted to know if their actions had been effective and if the decree had indeed been annulled, and suddenly a formal announcement was issued from the home of Rav Berland shlit"a. Rav Natan Besanson shlit"a, the gabbai of Rav Berland, stated to the public:
"We heard that this morning our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, said during the public reception at the residence of Rav Gevirtz that the decree has been annulled. Additionally, Rav Gevirtz confirmed that Rav Berland said the decree was annulled, although there is a possibility that the Rav said this in order to calm the person asking." However, Rav Berland shlit"a confirms and says with emphasis - "The decree has been annulled".
