The Sanctity of Shabbos — The Daily Chizuk from Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

The daily chizuk from The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a — holy words for the bochurim of Nechamas Tzion, 8th grade

Monday, 19 Tammuz 5782 — holy hanhagos for Shabbos; these are his holy words:

It’s barely permitted to sleep on Shabbos—barely…

Shabbos isn’t for chatter and it isn’t for cracking nuts and seeds—pitzuchim are forbidden. Anyone who learns in Shuvu Banim is not allowed pitzuchim!

It’s just animal food that makes a person coarse and sullied—not for the holy Shabbos.

You can eat a sandwich, some cake—not pitzuchim.

Every day, finish Tehillim; learn the Rishonim. You can complete Orchot Tzaddikim—easily you can finish the whole sefer. Learn how strict they were: it’s barely permitted even to say “shalom” (because of the sanctity of Shabbos).
