This Is a War Over Life and Death—Whoever Votes “Gimel” Will Merit Long Years: The Lesson of the Holy Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a Ahead of the Elections

Before you is a lesson delivered on Sunday night, the eve of 6 MarCheshvan, after the Ma’ariv prayer, regarding the obligation to go vote:

So on Tuesday everyone is going to vote. Even though there are many ballots there that say “Emes” (Truth), not a single person should vote for “Emes”—in no way, not at all! Even if it says “Emes,” we do not vote for “Emes.” Only “Gimel”! Each person should vote “Gimel.” And no matter what they tell you—whoever votes “Gimel” will merit long years. Because now they are going out to wage war against the holy Torah—to uproot the Torah, to uproot the yeshivos, to uproot all religion from the state! There are people here who have decided to uproot everything; they say it openly. And this is a face-to-face war—this is not elections at all; it has nothing to do with elections. All those who boycott the elections have no share in the World to Come! Because this is a war over life and death. Just like they said there would not be a Hitler—everyone said there would not be a Hitler—and in the end there was a Hitler. They are all reincarnations of Hitler, and now this is a war over life and death! Or else… and if not, then within a year all the children will be secular! The goal is to turn the children secular. So many children are falling away—on the road to dropping out. The moment there is a government of the kind of people we have today, then without a doubt everyone will become secular; all the girls will lose the path. And now this is a war over life and death. Once they fought with guns; today they fight with ballots! This is a war in which whoever wins will live; whoever does not win—they will burn him alive. Therefore, we ask everyone: by eight in the morning, everyone should already have voted! At eight in the morning, The Rav will already be at the elections—already there at the place, at the ballot box. Everyone, by eight in the morning, should already be at the ballot box. And after that, you can do whatever you want—travel to Uman, travel to America, travel to Buenos Aires. Whoever does not vote has no share in the World to Come!
