Today I Have Begotten You ◇ The Day of the King's Birth Celebration in the City of the Patriarchs, Hebron

In honor of the 88th birthday of our teacher and master shlit"a, the Day of the King's Birth Celebration was held with the participation of the family of our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, in the city of the patriarchs, Hebron, near the Cave of the Patriarchs.

On Monday, the 23rd of Tevet, the day when the great neshamah (soul) of the tzaddik of our generation and the crown of our head, our teacher and master, Rav Berland shlit"a, came into the world. A lofty event took place in a hall adjacent to the Cave of the Patriarchs in the city of the patriarchs, Hebron.

Already from the early afternoon, our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, arrived at the place, and from the window of the hall, he gazed upon the Cave of the Patriarchs, the burial site of the holy patriarchs and matriarchs.

Shortly after sunset, the family members of our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, appeared and filled the hall to capacity, all excited by the great merit to be at the exalted event. Around 19:00, our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, entered the event to the singing of "Siman Tov u'Mazal Tov..."

The evening was graced by the chassidic music star Shmuelik Sukkot, befitting the honor of the tzaddik. It is worth noting an emotional anecdote that during the song "Ro'eh Oti" performed by the singer himself - Shmuelik Sukkot. The Rav was very moved, especially at the words "Indeed, Hashem is in this place, and I did not know it..." Our teacher, the Rav, actually shed tears.

Afterwards, unexpectedly, the esteemed chassid R' Yaakov Spitzer shlit"a - an influencer in the Belz Chassidut, arrived at the event. Rabbi Spitzer had the merit to study with our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, during his youth at the 'Kfar Chassidim' yeshiva, and now he came to share his memories from the study period of our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, at the yeshiva under the leadership of the head of the yeshiva, R' Elie Lopian zt"l. At the end of his words, our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, stood up and, together with all the family members, broke into a dance for many long minutes.

Afterwards, a family quiz was held where the members of the royal family were asked about various dates and events and special questions. Needless to say, the first to answer all the questions correctly was our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a.

At the end of the quiz, a fascinating presentation was shown by the maggid mesharim, Rabbi Yitzchak Pinchas Goldwasser shlit"a, dealing with the history of the Temple Mount from Mount Moriah to the destruction of the Second Temple and the anticipation for the building of our chosen house speedily.

After the presentation ended, our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, distributed a special and prestigious gift to each and every family member. Around 23:50 at night, our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, left the city of the patriarchs, Hebron, and returned under the pouring rain in a royal convoy to his holy residence in the holy city of Jerusalem, may it be rebuilt and established.

One blessing is sent here to the head of our congregation, who leads us like a shepherd before the flock, our teacher and master, the crown of our head, Rav Berland shlit"a, on the occasion of the Day of the King's Birth Celebration for the 88th year. May it be His will that he merits many more long years over his kingdom with health of body and superior light until Shiloh comes and our king is at our head, amen!

Before you is a gallery of photos courtesy of "The Breslov Shuvu Banim Stage":
