Where Are Dances Mentioned in the Rosh Hashanah Haftarah? • The Daily Lesson

Here is the complete daily lesson as delivered by The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, on Thursday night, the eve of 7 Tishrei, Parshas Ha’azinu, after the Ma’ariv prayer:

“We read in the Haftarah of [the second day of] Rosh Hashanah: ‘You will again adorn yourself with your tambourines, and you will go out in a circle-dance of those who rejoice’ (Yirmiyahu 31:3)—that it should be only dancing all day and all night, like Serach bas Asher, who would only dance and sing: Yosef is still alive and is king in Egypt, and he has two sons—Menashe and Ephraim.”

To watch the replay of last night’s Ma’ariv prayer with singing and niggunim, the lesson begins at 44:45:
