A Prayer for a Bride on the Day of Her Chuppah
Master of the Universe, grant me the merit on the day of my chuppah (wedding canopy) to be pure, clear, holy, and clean. And may I feel, during the holy and awesome time of yichud (seclusion), all the suffering in the world—as if I am being cut into pieces and burned in endless fires, like in Auschwitz and Treblinka. And may the verses be fulfilled in me: "I will rejoice greatly in Hashem, my soul will exult in my God, for He has clothed me in garments of salvation, He has wrapped me in a robe of righteousness, like a bridegroom who dons priestly glory, and like a bride who adorns herself with her jewelry." And may I merit, during the holy and pure chuppah, to receive all the 370 lights (Shin-Ayin Nehorin) that were taken from Chava (Eve). And may the verses be fulfilled in me: "For Zion's sake I will not be silent, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth like brightness, and her salvation burns like a torch. And the nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; and you will be called by a new name, which the mouth of Hashem will designate. And you will be a crown of glory in the hand of Hashem, and a royal diadem in the palm of your God. You will no longer be called Forsaken, and your land will no longer be called Desolate; but you will be called Cheftzi-Bah (My delight is in her), and your land Beulah (Married); for Hashem delights in you, and your land will be married. For as a young man marries a virgin, so will your sons marry you; and as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you."
