Cancellation of the Fines in the Merit of the Rav

A family traveling with more passengers than permitted and without seatbelts was stopped by the police and faced heavy fines. The father of the family prayed and asked for a miracle in the merit of Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. Miraculously, the police officer waived most of the fines and issued a minimal ticket of only 250 shekels.
The Chassid, Rabbi Shlomo Ben Shushan, from the Breslov Chanichei HaYeshivos community in Modi'in Illit, recounted this story that happened to him personally.
Stopped by the Police on the Way to Tifrach
On the eve of the holy Shabbos, Parshas Noach, they traveled together with their family to the moshav of Tifrach in the south. Four children were sitting in the back—one more than legally permitted!—and all of them were without seatbelts. Near the town of Tifrach, a police car stopped them. When the officer saw the four sitting in the back and the fact that they were all unbuckled, he asked Rabbi Shlomo to step out with his licenses and come to the police cruiser.
Rabbi Shlomo strengthened himself in emunah (faith) and prayer, muttering over and over that Hashem should perform a miracle for him in the merit of Rabbi Eliezer ben Etya. He approached the cruiser, and the officer showed him with typical sternness that he was going to receive an exceptionally high fine. For the extra child above the permitted limit, he would have to pay a fine of 1,000 NIS, and for every additional passenger not wearing a seatbelt, he would have to pay 250 NIS, aside from the points that would penalize his driver's license.
Completely Exempt is Impossible
But as mentioned, Rabbi Shlomo's emunah was strong. He placed his trust in Hashem, blessed be He, and relied on the merit of the true tzaddikim. While he was muttering, "Hashem, blessed be He, perform a miracle for me in the merit of Rabbi Eliezer ben Etya," the officer turned to him and asked, "What are we going to do with you?" Rabbi Shlomo did not get confused and told him, "Well, to be completely exempt is impossible, so just give me one fine of 250 NIS and Shabbat Shalom."
And so it was. The officer wrote in the report that four were traveling in the back without a seatbelt, and the final amount written was only 250 NIS.
