"I, too, merited": Join The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, in the Mitzvah of Machatzis HaShekel for Shuvu Banim

“On the first of Adar, announcements are made regarding the shekalim (the half-shekel contribution)” — We fulfill the mitzvah of Machatzis HaShekel together with the Tzaddik!

A sacred call to the holy community of “Shuvu Banim” and to all who heed the teachings of our master and crown, the holy gaon and Tzaddik, The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, to merit the exalted mitzvah of “Zecher l’Machatzis HaShekel (a remembrance of the half-shekel)” for the fund of the Beis Midrash— a “Mikdash me’at (a miniature Sanctuary).”

The Rav shlit"a testified in his holy words:

“GAM I ZACHISI (I, too, merited) to give ‘Machatzis HaShekel’ to the fund of the above-mentioned Beis Midrash” (Shuvu Banim).

Now is the time to walk in the ways of the Tzaddik, to take part in sustaining the Sanctuary of Torah and prayer, and to merit protection and guarding from Heaven.

According to the ruling of Maran HaRishon LeTzion (the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel), Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef shlit"a (attached here), this year the measure of Machatzis HaShekel (according to the value of pure silver) is 86 NIS (approx $29 USD) per family member.

Transfer now the Machatzis HaShekel funds via the secure link Click here to go to the Stripe system (the mitzvah is performed securely and quickly).

A prayer from The Rav, Rabbi Berland shlit"a, to say before giving Machatzis HaShekel:

הרשל"צ הרב יצחק יוסף שליט"א בפסק הלכה לזכר מחצית השקל
הרשל"צ הרב יצחק יוסף שליט"א בפסק הלכה לזכר מחצית השקל

Master of the World, Who is all-powerful, grant me the merit to increase in tzedakah (charity). And through this, “there will not be a plague among them when they are counted” (i.e., the half-shekel protects from harm that can come through being counted), for through tzedakah we are saved from all calamities, from all harsh decrees, and from all illnesses in the world. And I will always increase in tzedakah, and I will not fear tomorrow or what is to come. I will not worry about anything when I give tzedakah, and I will never be afraid. I will scatter tzedakah with both hands, as it is said: “He has distributed, he has given to the poor; his righteousness stands forever,” and as it is written: “There is one who scatters, and yet increases more.”

And through this scattering for tzedakah, I will merit to be included in Nukva d’Pardashka, the right-side opening (a Kabbalistic term for a spiritual “channel” of bestowal and life-force), from where the spirit of life of Techiyas HaMeisim (Resurrection of the Dead) flows— which Yocheved and Miriam drew down for the children of Israel. And through this they merited long life, and the giving of the Torah, and to hear the Aseres HaDibros (the Ten Commandments). And in the merit of tzedakah, my mind will be opened; all the screens and coverings that hover over my mind and prevent me from understanding matters properly will be removed. Rather, in the merit of tzedakah, from now on I will merit to understand everything that I learn. And in the merit of tzedakah, I will merit to heal all the sick in the world, and to revive the dead, and to bring the Geulah (final Redemption) swiftly, in the blink of an eye—Amen, eternally, selah, and forever.
