Our Body that Hashem Created for Us Shone Like the Sun • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Before you is the full daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a - yesterday after the Maariv (evening) prayer, Sunday night, the 25th of Sivan, Parshas Korach (the Torah portion of Korach):
"Every father should watch over his child; anyone who cannot watch over his child should not come to pray. Anyone who does not know how to watch over his child should stay at home with the child, feed him, give him drink, and buy him popsicles and ice creams. Just as Joab (Yoav) bought popsicles and ice creams for all the children. Therefore, Joab merited the highest level of all levels. And Abner (Avner), even though Joab was in his hands, did nothing to him. After Joab killed him, slaughtered him, and sent his head flying, he caught him and said to him, 'Now I am sending your head flying,' then they wept for him, so he said, 'Fine, I won't do anything to him,' and he remains alive and existing. Therefore, Abner is buried in the Me'aras HaMachpelah (Cave of the Patriarchs). Anyone who travels to the Me'aras HaMachpelah must also enter to Abner ben Ner; he is greater than the level of the Patriarchs. Because Joab was in his hands and he did nothing to him, even though Joab had killed him, slaughtered him, and sent his head flying into the distance. And every father should watch his children, and the children should say Amen, everyone should say Amen—ninety Amens. And 'Shema Yisrael,' we say 'Shema Yisrael' five times. In the Korbanos (sacrificial offerings section), in Shacharis (morning prayer), and after that in the prayer of Rabbeinu Tam—that is three; Maariv (evening prayer) and Krias Shema al HaMita (the bedtime Shema)—together [this] is five 'Shema Yisrael's. And one must say three Kedushas (holy prayers). 'Holy, Holy, Holy.' Three times together with 'U'va L'Tzion,' three times 'Holy, Holy, Holy.' And ten Kaddish prayers (sanctification prayers)—everyone must say them with all their strength with their sons and with their wife. Every woman needs to arrive to say 'Yehei Shmei Rabba' (May His great Name be blessed). Because the Geulah (Redemption) will only be through the merit of the women; the Rebbe [Nachman] writes in Sefer HaMiddos (The Book of Traits), section on Adultery, item 37: that the Geulah (Redemption) will only be through the merit of the women. Because the trial of the woman is much greater than the trial of the man. Because our body is a body of the Satan, 'Ketonet Or' (a garment of skin) is a body of the Satan. Everyone has a body of the Satan. The Satan whispers to him, a body of a serpent. The serpent shed its skin and Hashem clothed Adam and Eve in it. Our entire body is not a real body; it is not the body of the Resurrection of the Dead; it is not the body that Hashem created for us. Our body used to shine like the sun, like a fluorescent light. 'The heel of Adam HaRishon (the first man) would outshine the orb of the sun'—the heels alone shone more than the sun. And Rabbi Bana'ah entered the Me'aras HaMachpelah and saw Adam and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca together, and Jacob and Leah together; when he reached Adam HaRishon, he only saw the heels and said, 'This shines more than the sun,' and Hashem said to him, 'Until here—you have no permission to see the handiwork of My hands.' Whoever wants to enter the Me'aras HaMachpelah can go down and see Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca, Jacob and Leah. Until he reaches the heels of Adam HaRishon. Therefore, everyone needs the Geulah (Redemption) to come only in the merit of the girls. Now a mother of eight children was burned, everyone must... she was completely burned, only ashes remained; she is indeed in Gan Eden (Paradise), but we want her to be here. There are a thousand girls here; every girl can be a principal or a teacher. Girls who did not finish the material and want to be accepted to 'Be'erah Shel Miriam' or 'Netivot HaChinuch' of 'Shuvu Banim' must complete all the material they missed. This year we have a long summer break; until the 1st of Elul, we have sixty days plus another ten days, until the 1st of Elul. Every girl can complete all the material. She needs to sit and know how much two plus two is—that's four, and four [times two] is eight [and so the doubling continues:], sixteen, thirty-two, sixty-four, one hundred and twenty-eight, two hundred and twenty-eight, [five hundred and twelve], one thousand and twenty-four. Just ten times [of doubling] is one thousand and twenty-four. If it's twenty times, it's a million; if it's thirty, it's a billion. If it's forty, it's a thousand billion (trillion); if it's fifty, it's a million billion (quadrillion); if it's sixty, it's a quintillion; if it's seventy, it's a thousand quintillion (sextillion); if it's eighty, it's already a million quintillion (septillion); if it's ninety, it's already a billion quintillion (octillion)—that's already twenty-seven zeros. Reaching one hundred—it is written 'Like them and like them,' Rashi says everyone needs to study chapters 23 and 24 in Samuel II, he says 'Like them and like them a hundred times'—a hundred times reaches a thousand billion quintillion, thirty zeros, with a one. Every girl needs to know this calculation; it's a simple calculation that is done in twenty seconds to reach a thousand billion (billion) [quintillion]. Everyone needs to know the multiplication table by heart. And whoever doesn't know it today should learn it during the summer break; the summer break is starting now, until the 1st of Elul. In the Yeshivas, it will be from Tisha B'Av until the 1st of Elul, three weeks. Every boy needs to know a bit of the calculations in Eruvin (laws of Sabbath boundaries), to know all the calculations, to know in Berachos (blessings), how many blessings there are, how many Amens there are. One must say ninety Amens; without this, it is impossible to enter Gan Eden (Paradise). And after that, say three Kedushas (holy prayers)—Shacharis and Mincha, and after that in 'U'va L'Tzion,' three Kedushas. And after that in Shema Yisrael. And ten Kaddish prayers—that is 'Holy, Holy, [Holy],' which is three. And now we hear every day about five killed, five seriously wounded, without arms, without legs; all the tanks are exploding like paper—tanks today are paper. Today there are RPGs, which didn't exist back in the War of Independence. There were Shermans; the Egyptians arrived with Shermans, there was the PIAT. And after that in the Six-Day War, the Patton tanks already arrived; Egypt was under Russia, and it had endless MiGs—it had about a thousand MiGs. Everything was blown up in five minutes; they didn't leave them a single MiG. It was all in the merit that we were in the field, we cried, we wept, we danced until morning; at seven in the morning, we blew up a thousand MiGs, (a thousand Messerschmitts) a thousand Mirages. And in one second, everything was blown up for them; they were left without a single airplane. And the Patton tanks arrived [until the gates of Jerusalem], and then a 'crazy' Yemenite arrived, a soul-sick person, a bit delayed. He said, 'I am shooting, I don't care; Patton... Sherman... what do I care!? I have a "Bernsten" rifle [likely referring to a Bren gun] here. I'm shooting a few bullets.' And the [fuel] tanks were attached to the Patton tanks; they arrived from Jericho. And they were full of gasoline, tanks of about a thousand liters of gasoline, so that the tanks could travel from Jericho to Meah Shearim. Then, not a trace would have remained of Meah Shearim; no PIAT and no... nothing could pierce the armor of those tanks. And then this 'foolish' Yemenite fired a few shots—he was at the Shefat [the ridge of Mount Scopus]—he fired from behind, the fuel tanks ignited, two tanks went up in flames. They were supposed to conquer all of Jerusalem; if not for this Yemenite, if he hadn't blown up the fuel tanks and fired a few bullets, not a trace would have remained, not of Meah Shearim and not of Geula (the neighborhood). They were aiming first of all at Meah Shearim, first of all to eliminate Meah Shearim. That was the Six-Day War, you weren't born yet, 1967. After that was Yom Kippur, 1974. Then too, there was Shlomo Gefen; he blew up several tanks, he told me. He was alone in the battle; everyone fled, there was no IDF, none. Just like now on Simchat Torah, for two days there was no IDF. People said four hundred thousand arrived within two hours—how far is it from Jerusalem to Be'eri? Forty-five minutes, everything was empty—all the roads were empty. There were four hundred thousand, they said there are no rifles, no this. 'Make lists'—it took them twenty-four hours to make lists. After that, they said there are no keys to the armory, then there are no rifles, the armories are empty, they distributed everything to Hamas. Hamas received everything from Bibi [Netanyahu], all their weapons, the most modern... they receive everything from Iran and Bibi passes it to them with joy. Hamas is called 'Bobby'—it's written in all the community centers in the Kibbutzim, 'Hamas is our Bobby, he is our Bobby.' The enemy is the religious people, the enemy is the Yeshiva students. Today it is Shuvu Banim, who pray for five hours on Shabbat and five hours on weekdays too, so these are the 'main enemies'... Therefore, the entire Bagatz (High Court) is against the religious, it is against Shuvu Banim. All the Bagatz, the articles and the slanders, because this is their real enemy, since very soon the Zionists will fall. The Chazon Ish said: After seventy years, not a trace will remain! All the Zionists—and so we see, there is no trace. And may we merit the complete Geulah (Redemption) speedily in our days, Amen!"
