Prayer for Shiluach HaKen
Through the mitzvah of Shiluach HaKen (sending away the mother bird), one ascends to the highest spiritual realms of Adam Kadmon of Adam Kadmon (the Primordial Man), fulfilling the verse: "And the nursing child shall play by the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the viper's den" (Isaiah 11:8). The Holy Temple was destroyed in the Hebrew year 3338 (ג' של"ח - the letters of which spell 'Shalach', meaning 'send away'). Similarly, the Tower of Babel was destroyed in the year 2338 (ב' של"ח) during the days of Arpachshad, when a third of the world was destroyed and a third of humanity was transformed into apes. Therefore, the mitzvah of Shiluach HaKen protects us from the destruction of the Holy Temple and the destruction of the world, such as occurred during the destruction of the Tower of Babel.
Through Shiluach HaKen, we rectify the attribute of Gevurah (Severity)—specifically the Crown of Gevurah. Cain stumbled in this attribute of Gevurah and, not knowing how to rectify it, struck and killed Abel. However, the name Abel (Hevel - הבל) forms the acronym for the verse, "He will swallow up death forever" (Isaiah 25:8). Abel was meant to completely nullify the decree of death, which he could have achieved had he conducted himself with absolute humility and lowliness. But the verse says regarding Abel's offering, "Vayisha" (And Hashem paid heed - וישע). This word can be split into "Vai-Sha" (וי-שע), meaning "Woe (Vai) regarding the 370 (Sha)." This alludes to the fact that Abel was supposed to rectify the 370 supernal lights that were taken from Eve. Abel had the potential to rectify all 370 lights, as his name Hevel (הבל) has the numerical value of 37, and ten times 37 equals 370. This is also the mystical secret behind Isaac's question, "And where is the lamb for a burnt offering, my son?" (Genesis 22:7), as the first letters of the Hebrew phrase (השה לעולה בני) spell Hevel (הבל).
Through Shiluach HaKen, all harsh judgments in the world are nullified. The Sefirah of Malchut (Kingship) returns and reunites with Binah (Understanding), embodying the mystical secret of the verse, "Who is this coming up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved?" (Song of Songs 8:5). The word "Who" (Mi - representing Binah) ascends together with "this" (Zot - representing Malchut). Furthermore, through Shiluach HaKen, all enemies and foes are cut off, and all those who hate Israel are eradicated. This reflects the verse, "A star has issued from Jacob and a scepter has arisen from Israel; he shall crush the corners of Moab and break down all the sons of Seth" (Numbers 24:17). The word "corner" (Pe'ah - פאה) shares a deep numerical connection with "break down" (Karkar - קרקר). The numerical value of Pe'ah (86) is equivalent to the Divine Name Elokim (86). When the Name Elokim is spelled out fully and doubled, its numerical value equals Karkar (600). This is the mystical secret of the two great angels, Metatron (314) and Sandalphon (286), whose combined numerical value also equals 600.
Through Shiluach HaKen, a perfect unification is achieved between Abba (the Supernal Father) and Imma (the Supernal Mother) "face to face," completely nullifying all harsh judgments in the world. The Keter (Crown) of Rachel ascends to align with the Keter of Zeir Anpin (the Divine configuration of the lower Sefirot), reflecting the concept of "two kings sharing a single crown." One then merits the mystical secret of the "thirteen-petaled rose," representing the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy that were revealed to Moses in the cleft of the rock. Through Shiluach HaKen, one attains the spiritual illumination of Yom Kippur, a time when Malchut is elevated and absorbed into Binah. Then, all the radiant hues of the Ten Sefirot shine brightly within Malchut.
By fulfilling Shiluach HaKen, all these spiritual hues are drawn down, revealing all the mercy in the world. The three manifestations of the Divine Name Havayah shine forth and ascend to the supernal channel of Notzer (the attribute of Preserving Mercy), which is the secret of the Supreme Will. This awakens within everyone a profound yearning and desire for Hashem. Zeir Anpin ascends to the channel of Notzer, the secret of the Supreme Will, and to the Holy Beard (Dikna Kadisha) reaching the eighth channel of mercy. At that moment, Hashem carves out a spiritual tunnel beneath the Throne of Glory to accept repentance, just as He did for King Manasseh. In the merit of the prayers of Nachshon ben Aminadav, a divine wind carried Manasseh back to Jerusalem, where he merited to sit upon his throne of glory and achieve complete teshuvah (repentance).
Therefore, with every act of Shiluach HaKen, a resounding call to teshuvah is awakened throughout the entire world. All the harsh judgments (Gevurot) in the world are sweetened—even the severities rooted in the Holy Beard are sweetened through the mystical concept of the "corners of Moab." These "corners" refer to the two holy Peyot (sidelocks of the Divine configuration): one corresponding to the level of Atik (the Ancient One) and the other to Arich (the Long Visage). Through this, the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy flowing from the channel of Notzer in the Holy Beard are fully revealed. Consequently, all the external, impure forces (Chitzonim) that cling to Malchut—symbolized by the eggs and the chicks—vanish and are completely nullified as if they never existed.
Then, Hashem's boundless and infinite love is revealed. This awakens the oath that Hashem swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to give the Children of Israel the Land of Canaan. The word Canaan (כנען) represents the attribute of Hachna'ah (submission and humility). In the merit of this humility, may we be worthy of the complete Geulah (Redemption) and the coming of Mashiach (referred to as Yinon). May we rectify the two inverted Nuns (the mystical brackets in the Torah), witness the rebuilding of our Holy Temple, and experience the resurrection of the dead, speedily in our days, in the blink of an eye. Amen, Netzach, Selah, Va'ed.
