Rabbinical Council Calls for Emergency Fundraising Appeal for Rav Berland

Faced with unbearable expenses and the extremely precarious medical situation of our Rebbe, Rav Eliezer Berland shlit”a, along with the very real possibility that the Rav will be returned to prison if the conditions of his house arrest are not met (among them 100,000 NIS in monthly security expenses alone), the Rabbinical Council of the holy Shuvu Banim community has called for an emergency fundraising appeal to meet the necessary expenses for the rescue and monthly expenditures of the Rav shlit”a.

With those involved in handling the Rav’s affairs mamash breaking under the heavy burden and left with no other option, the Rabbinical Council decided to turn to the holy community which for decades has been sustained by the Rav’s Torah and prayers, and, of course, to anyone who has a Jewish soul within him and is dismayed by the terrible and unjust treatment of the Tzaddik of the generation, who fights with his body and soul day and night for Am Yisrael.

These are the holy words of the representatives of the Rabbinical Council of the holy Breslov community of Shuvu Banim.

The words of the tzaddik Rabbi Moshe Tzanani shlit”a about the importance of the emergency fundraising appeal for our Rebbe, Rav Eliezer Berland shlit”a:

Now we are found in a reality such that we must raise an amount of money to keep our Rebbe Rav Eliezer Berland shlit”a in house arrest; that the Rav would not return to prison, G-d forbid. The situation is mamash life-threatening for our Rebbe Rav Berland.  You need to know that even if not everyone has the means, one needs to make a special effort and give the 1000 shekels which we’re requesting to donate… The situation is... May Hashem have mercy, if, G-d forbid, the Rav needs to return to prison.  One needs to make an effort, and I’m sure that each person will receive his full recompense many times over for this self-sacrifice. Be strengthened and bezras Hashem, we’ll merit hearing good news – that Rav Berland will be with us soon, Amen.

The words of the tzaddik Rav Ofer Erez shlit”a about the importance of the emergency fundraising appeal for Rav Berland shlit”a:

We are standing before processes which are not simple from a legal and medical standpoint with regards to Rav Berland. There are still whole procedures which we need to deal with both medically and legally.  Therefore, the costs of sustaining the Rav in all matters relating to health and the trial, and of maintaining the house which we are renting each month, with all the things accompanying this, are enormous expenses – the people involved in this are collapsing under the enormous burden of the expenses. Therefore, we are turning to the wider public, anyone who can help.  The Rabbinical Council is managing this and everything is under its supervision.  It’s been decided that every family should try to donate at least a 1000 shekels, and if it's possible to get one’s friends to donate, they should be blessed, because there’s no doubt that this is a great mitzvah to help our Rebbe Rav Berland in this situation.  Every day we are mamash dealing with legal and health issues every time anew. [caption id="attachment_19481" align="aligncenter" width="482"] Rav Ofer Erez with Rav Berland[/caption] On this opportunity, I want to strengthen what has been requested of us – even the attorneys turned to us and recruited us to become much stronger in prayer and the saying of the Tikkun Klalli for the recovery and success of Rav Berland; because in spite of the plea bargain, many very important and significant legal issues are up for discussion which need to be dealt with. Therefore, anyone who can help with this – the Rabbinical Council decided that every family should give at least 1000 shekels, and at the same time to become stronger in prayers, because we still need many, many prayers…and anyone who can help will merit to [receive] many times over [what they gave].
