The Daily Shiur of Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a, given on Thursday of Parshat Tzav, 19 Adar-Bet, after Maariv:
Three seriously wounded, a car with small children aged four was attacked. Poor things, all of them wounded. All because the girls do not go [with dresses] reaching to the ankles; then the demons go wild. All the Hamas-niks are demons like these. Highway 90 – so many were wounded, so many were killed. All because the girls still haven’t broken their Xiaomi. Everyone needs to break their Xiaomi.
Yael broke the Xiaomi, Devorah broke the Xiaomi. Therefore, it’s written, “Blessed by women is Yael…[by women in the tent will she be blessed]”; [this is the numerical value which alludes to] her [Yael] being greater than Sarah, Rivka, Rachel, and Leah, says the Gemara in Horiyot 10b. Yael is greater than Sarah, Rivka, Rachel and Leah. Therefore, it is written, “By women in the tent will she be blessed” – this is [the numerical value of] Sarah, Rivka, Rachel, Leah [and David]. Because a woman who breaks the Xiaomi, goes [modestly with dresses reaching] the ankles, is greater than Sarah, Rivka, Rachel, and Leah. Because once it was the norm that a woman would go [with dresses] reaching the ankles. It is forbidden to see the leg; this was the norm.
Michal threw David out of the house. She said to him, “Get out of here. I don’t want to see you here anymore.” David said to her, “I danced before the Ark of the Covenant!” [Michal answered him:] “I don’t care; I saw your legs. You embarrassed me in front of all the women of Israel. So it’s written in the fourth portion in Bamidbar. Then the woman wants to throw her husband out of the house. He goes with tight-fitting [clothes], short [pants], then he should get out of the house. He’s not needed. Like the women threw out all their husbands after the sin of the Golden Calf. They threw them out of the house.
Therefore, the Half-Shekel donation is brought opposite the [number of] men, not opposite the women. The women don’t need the Half-Shekel donation. They didn’t worship [idolatry]; they were not seduced by the calf. They were not seduced by nonsense: that “this is the ox in the Merkava [Divine Chariot], and this [the calf] is an ox here, an ox there.” And Moshe lives and endures. They saw Moshe’s bier and Moshe’s funeral — Moshe walking in heaven with a funeral, with black candles, black angels.
So the Satan created the Xiaomi. This is the messenger of the Satan. This is the Satan himself. Every woman who doesn’t go modestly is the Satan himself! That’s how we see the Satan, seeing the Satan himself. And one never leaves Gehinnom, doesn’t leave even once, and it’s impossible even at the revival of the dead. Anyone who [has unclean technological devices] will also remain in Gehinnom at the revival of the dead, and nothing will help him. A person needs to nullify himself to the Tzaddik! The Tzaddik said until the ankles – then until the ankles! To break the Xiaomi – break the Xiaomi! Now, every day some child comes and breaks the Xiaomi, but there are still thousands of children going about with the Xiaomi. They will never leave Gehinnon; such pictures were not [even] during the time of the Flood, nor during the time of the generation of the Dispersal, and not by Metushelach. Metushelah would kill all the demons. He said, “This is demons and evil spirits; we need to kill them all.” Break [the Xiaomi and] go [with dresses] until the ankles; then at that moment, we subdue all the demons and will merit to a complete redemption speedily in our days, Amen!
