Said the Tikkun HaKlali and was Saved from an Anti-Tank Missile

Interview with the tank driver from Gaza

“Say one Tikkun HaKlali [and it is] worth everything! One Tikkun HaKlali is worth more than a thousand swords, a thousand arrows, and a thousand bows!” So said Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a in shiurim a few weeks ago. Below is an amazing interview given on the Breslov information line (Kav HaMeda) about the miracle which saved four soldiers in a tank in the merit of the Tikkun HaKlali:

We want to hear the story of the miraculous rescue of four soldiers in a tank in the merit of the Tikkun HaKlali. We are on the line with the tank driver in brigade 12, battalion 184 in the reserves. Yitzchak, Shalom to you:

Shalom u’bracha. On Simchat Torah, I was overseas. Within a few days, I returned to Israel and enlisted in the reserves the following day. Because of the mass enlistment, there was a shortage of munitions and equipment. When this happened, we prepared the tanks and went down on defensive missions in the Gaza envelope. In this war, I am a tank driver. The driver sits the most forward. A Merkava Mark 3 tank, which has no Armored Shield Protection, and, of course, there is a tremendous danger in a case of being hit by anti-tank [artillery]. It’s worth pointing out that it is the oldest tank in the IDF today.

There are forces which entered with the goal of taking over and progressing as quickly as possible. Our goal was to clean out nests of terror in Beit Hanoun one step at a time. The first days of fighting were very confusing. You never know what is permissible and what is forbidden, where it’s more dangerous, and where it’s less [dangerous], until you enter the battle routine of cleaning out houses and destroying targets.

At the beginning of the war, someone brought me a Tikkun HaKlali. I took it and put it in my pocket. When we entered, I already tried saying the Tikkun HaKlali once a day. Relative to other soldiers, as a tank driver, I have more free time. On the day being discussed, we were in operations, only that we took cover under tank shelters, and as a driver, I wasn’t so relevant. Then I took out the Tikkun HaKlali and read it. When I finished the last chapter and said the words “Kol HaNeshama Tehalel Y-ah, Halleluyah,” a terrorist came out in front of us and fired an anti-tank missile. In an open miracle which can only be explained through the merit of the Tikkun HaKlali, a hidden hand caused [the missile] to veer inward, [and] it deviated a few centimeters from the target. It’s important to note that even those outside the tank were unharmed.
