Fulfil the mitzvah of Matanot L’evyonim and feed the hungry on Purim

Everyone knows about the great Mitzvah of Matanot L’evyonim which is fulfilled on the holy and awesome day of Purim. However, not everyone has the opportunity to fulfill the Mitzvah to its fullest extent.

Here at Shuvu Banim we will make sure that your donation reaches a halachically categorized ‘poor person’ on the day of Purim, so that you will fulfill the Mitzvah in the most proper way.

The Shuvu Banim community while being one of the most spiritually rich communities in Israel is unfortunately one of the poorest financially. Many families are literally lacking the basics. And with large families, they barely have the basic essentials of food.

These families look forward to the holiday of Purim which every Jew in the world has an obligation to send money to poor families.

Your donation will bring smiles to children’s faces.

In order to fulfil the Mitzvah of Matanot L’evyonim, each person must give one gift to two people. There are various opinions among the poskim as to how much must be given to each person. Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Orbach has said that in order to fulfill all opinions one should give an amount which is significant by the giver and by the taker’s standards.

Men women and children equally obligated to fulfill this important Mitzvah. So preferably your donation should include a gift from each member of the household.
