Residents of Dimona from the “Shuvu Banim Dimona” synagogue, under the direction of Rabbi Shachar Ben Zikri, merited to come to a special shiur at the home of Rav Berland shlit”a.
The community was established more than fifteen years ago. The synagogue itself was established four years ago in Dimona, and is an amazing story in itself, a story of Divine providence intertwined with the prophetic vision of the Tzaddik from afar already twelve years ago. The synagogue is located on spacious grounds with ongoing Torah shiurim and prayers with melody and vitality every day of the week. The hi-point of the minyan is Shabbat evening, when between sixty and eighty people come for Kabbalat Shabbat and the Maariv prayer with joyful melody.
Besides the shiurim which are given there, occasionally great students of Rav Berland shlit”a arrive, such as Rabbi Meir Malka, Rabbi Moshe Tzanani, Rabbi Ofer Erez, Rabbi Yosef Gal, Rabbi Moshe Saada, and many others, in order to give over Torah shiurim. The gabbai Rabbi Shachar ben Zikri notes that the great students of the Rav who have come have expressed wonderment about this holy place, where special arousal is felt. Rav Berland himself came to the place twice and gave over arousing Torah shiurim for more than two hours each time.
For the special shiur for Shuvu Banim Dimona, some forty students of the Rav shlit”a came. In the shiur the Rav spoke about the parasha, that the blessing and curse were given on Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal. Afterwards, the Rav spoke about Teichelet and the difference between various types. At the conclusion of the shiur, the Rav shlit”a gave chizzuk to the subject of domestic tranquility.
Below is a small piece of the shiur, where the Rav read a short portion from the Zohar about how a person should honor his wife and say to her pleasant and encouraging words:
