The Secret of “Woe to the Person who is Encountered by an Arod…” — Daily Ma’amar

The secret of “Woe to the person who is encountered by an Arod, and woe to the Arod that is encountered by Rabbi Chanina Ben Dosa”

The secret of all the Arodim, which are wild donkeys and all the most dangerous serpents, all the Arodim are formed from the bones of Balak Bil’am = 274, through the Jewish people having separating between Rachel and Leah, because all the work of Yaakov Avinu was to join Rachel with Leah and to bring the heels of Leah into the Keter (Crown) of Rachel, for the heels of Leah in the Keter of Rachel is parallel to the middle third of Tiferet (Beauty) of Zeir Anpin (the “Small Face”), about which it is said “I will toss my shoe on Edom.” And why is it said “my shoe,” and it is not said “I will unsheathe my sword, my hand will impoverish them” or “I will unsheathe my spear”?  Rather, the main matter of “I will toss my shoe on Edom” is the shoe of Leah, from which is made the Keter of Rachel, and so it is said, “What humility made a heel for its sole, as it is said ‘The heel of humility is the fear of Hashem’ — fear made a crown for its head.”  For from the heel of the sole of Leah is formed the Keter of Rachel, and this is the secret of “King of Arad,” that Rashi says [in Chukat]: This is the king of Amalek.  That it is called “Arad” after the name “Arod” — the most dangerous serpent in the world, which is formed from the bones of Balak Bil’am [=274], through the separation between the shoe of Leah and the Keter of Rachel.

For the whole joining of the shoe of Leah with the Keter of Rachel is accomplished only through songs and melodies, dancing, and jumping.  For this, that one tosses up the heels, like Izevel who would toss up the heals, and through this the dogs did not eat them, and every time that a person tosses up the heals — in the secret of, “It will be as a result [ekev] of you listening,” because through tossing up the heels, we merit that the name Havayah penetrates until the heels which are in the numerical value of “VeHayah — It will be” [that the numerical value of the name Havayah is the same as VeHayah — editor].  And then, when the name Havayah enters into the heels, we merit that the heels of Leah enter the Keter of Rachel, and then Edom is uprooted from the world, and the verse is fulfilled, “I will toss my shoe on Edom.”
