In keeping with Rabbi Berland’s instructions to translate a minimum of 10 prayers a week into English, we are now starting on a new series of prayers, this time for Shalom Bayit.
We hope you enjoy them.

Prayer #1:
Master of the world, grant me the merit that they will open for me the gates (580) of holiness (420) and I will merit to see Hashem eye to eye, like it says, “He was seen by you (262) eye (130) to eye (132)” = 1524.
Please Hashem, Merciful and Gracious One, “remember us (283) for forgiveness (143) and pardon (99)” and through this may I merit true (461) happiness (537) +1 = 1524.
Please, G-d (86) of truth (441), in the merit of Avraham (248) Yitzchak (208) and Yisrael (541) = 1524, make my path before You succeed.
And grant me true Shalom Bayit and an abundant income.
And may I merit to help all of the nation of Israel, because “You (406) are Hashem (26) our G-d (102)”.
And through this, may I merit to bring to the world Moshiach (358) the son of (52) Yosef (156) and Moshiach (358) the son of (52) David (14) = 1524, who will build the Beit HaMikdash speedily in our days, in the blink of an eye. Amen, Netzach, Selah, Va’ed.

Prayer #2:
Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld, grant me true Shalom Bayit, in the blink (305) of an eye (130) = 435.
In the merit of the Tzadik (209) the foundation (80) of the world (146) = 435. And through this may I merit to love you with a love (13) without (42) limits (380) = 435.
Please, Merciful and Gracious One, grant me that my wife will be the most (35) modest (121) woman (311) of all (52), and through this may we merit together to unify the Holy (415) Name (341) Blessed (232) is He (12) = 1273.
And in the merit of this may we merit, me and my wife (husband) to be an aspect of the Cherubs (283).
And through this may we merit to draw down the souls of Moshiach (358) the son of (52) Yosef (156) and Moshiach (358) the son of (52) David (14) = 1273 who will build the Beit HaMikdash speedily in our days, in the blink of an eye.
Amen, Netzach, Selah, Va’ed.

Prayer #3:
Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld, grant me the merit to pour out my heart like water before You.
And grant me that there will be fulfilled in me and in my wife (husband) the blessing with which You blessed us in each of the sheva brachot [the wedding blessings]:
“Make intensely happy the beloved companions (64) like you made happy Your creation in Gan Eden from the days of old”.
And through this grant us, in the merit in of the forefathers (409) and the Matriarchs (458) who performed (676) before You only good (67) deeds (460) = 2567 all the days of their lives, true Shalom Bayit.
And that we will truly honor each other.
And through this may there be fulfilled in me and my wife (husband) the blessing that they blessed Rivka, “and they blessed (244) (401) Rivka (307) and they said (263) to her (35) you are (401) our sister (471) may you be (25) thousands (151) of myriads (209) and may your offspring conquer the gates of its enemies”.
And in the merit that I will have Shalom Bayit may I (my husband) merit to be a genius (60) = 2567 in Torah, and to know Shas, Rambam, Tur, Shulchan Aruch, Rif, Rosh, Ramban, Rashba, Ritva, Meiri, Shita Mekubetzet and all of the earlier and later commentators, forwards and backwards.

Prayer #4:
Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld, grant me the merit to pour out my heart like water before You.
Please, Father, (4) Merciful and Gracious One, be gracious to me and grant me (93) true (461) Shalom (382) Bayit (412) = 1352.
And may I merit to nullify myself to my wife (husband) in each and every thing, in all thoughts, speech and action, and to listen to her (his) voice in everything.
Please, “Hashem (26) of Legions (499) is with us (166) our (86) refuge (345) is the G-d (46) of Yaakov (182) +2 = 1352, Selah”.
And in the merit that we will have true Shalom Bayit, Hashem who is One (1), may we merit a son in who the verse will be fulfilled, “and he (12) will bring salvation (396) (401) Israel (541) +1 = 1352”.
And through this may there be fulfilled in us the verse, “then (8) our mouths (140) will be filled (81) with laughter (414) and our tongue (448) with song (255) = 1352”.

Prayer #5
Master of the world grant me the merit to love my wife (husband) with all my 248 limbs and 365 sinews, and with all my nefesh, ruach, neshama, chaya and yechida [levels of soul].
And may I merit wonderful Shalom Bayit which is an aspect of the building of the Beit HaMikdash, like prayers (460) and glory (1087) = 1547.
And may I (my husband) merit to know Shas, Gemara, Rambam, Tur, Shulchan Aruch and all the commentators and all of the Torah (1006) of Israel (541) = 1547.
And may me and my wife (husband) have long years and also all our offspring and our offspring’s offspring, “on (100) the land (55) which (501) Hashem swore (422) to our forefathers (469) = 1547”.
And may I succeed to have an abundance of income, “because Hashem (26) your G-d (66) He (12) gives (511) to you (50) the strength (28) to perform (806) valor (48) = 1547”.
And may there be true love between me and my wife (husband) and may I only see the good points in her (him) and the good in her (him).
And may there be fulfilled in us the verse, “and there will be (26) peace (376) on your journey (70) quietude (341) in your palaces (729) = 1547”.
And may we only rejoice and praise all our days and years, and may there be fulfilled in us, “this (12) is Hashem (26) we hoped (172) for Him (36) we will rejoice (99) and be happy (409) in His salvation (794) = 1547”.

Prayer #6:
Master of the world, grant me and my wife (husband) true Shalom Bayit.
And may me and my wife (husband) be like the two Cherubs on the Ark of the Covenant.
And may there be fulfilled in us the verse, “let us make (425) man (45) in our form (218) in our image (526) = 1214”.
And may we merit to be in the image of the Holy One Blessed Be He.
And through this may the Shechina rest in our home, and may we merit in the merit of this true (861) happiness (353) = 1214 all of the days of our lives forever more.
Amen, Netzach, Selah, Va’ed.

Prayer #7:
Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld, please (52), “Creator (209) of remedies (693) awesome (257) in praises (841) master (61) of wonders (572) = 2685” grant me Shalom (376) Bayit (412).
And may my wife (I) be like Esther the Queen, about whom it is written, “and it was (421) that Esther (661) found (757) grace (58) = 2685 in the eyes of all who saw her”.
And may I have the intention in everything to unify the Holy (415) Name (341) Blessed (232) is He (12).
And through this bring us good tidings (910), “a new (312) light (207) will shine over (100) Zion (156) = 2685”.
And bless me and my wife each and every moment with the blessings of the Sheva (372) Brachot (628) and through this may we merit to live all our days in an upper pleasantness, in a pleasantness (168) of the holiness (810) of Shabbat (707) = 2685.
And may we merit, “to the day which is entirely Shabbat and rest for eternal life”.

Prayer #8:
Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld, grant me (87) the light (237) of the seven (772) days (105) for me (417) and my wife (711) (husband) = 2736.
And may we merit to live together until 120 years.
And may we always remain like a bride and groom on the day of their chuppa.
And through this may we merit at every moment and second to renewed Sheva (372) Brachot (628).
And may we merit with every thought, speech and action, to unify the Holy (415) Name (341) Blessed (232) is He (12).
And through this may I and my wife (husband) merit to live all the days of our lives until 120 years in quietude (341), love (13) and peace (382) = 2736.

Prayer #9:
Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld, may Your mercy please rule over Your traits.
And transform my incarnation in the blink (305) of an eye (130) = 435, in the merit of the Tzadik (209) the foundation (80) of the world (146) = 435.
And in the merit of this, may I merit to love You with a love (13) without (42) limits (380) = 435.
And may I merit from today to learn Torah day (96) and night (81) = 177 and in the merit of this may I merit to feel the taste of Gan (53) Eden (124) = 177 each moment of my life.
And may I merit from now on emunah (102) and trust (75) = 177, and through this may I merit that the wheel of great abundance will turn towards me in order that I will be able to help all the people of Israel without limits or borders.
And in the merit of that I will merit to fulfill that which I say in the evening prayer ‘Ahavat Olam’ (with a love that is eternal), “because (30) they (45) are our lives (84) and the length (227) of our days (116) and in them (53) we study (63) day (96) and night (81) = 795”.
May I merit to bring my wife to the level of “the brides (450) of Moshe (345) = 795” to complete emunah.
And may I merit from today to raise her up and to lift her higher and higher, until she merits also to see miracles and wonders, miracles upon miracles, without end.
And through this, may she merit complete emunah and may we all merit true Shalom Bayit, forever more and for all eternity, we and all the nation of Israel.
And from now may the success shine out to all of us, in the blink of an eye.

Prayer #10:
Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld, “a song of ascents for David, Hashem did not make my heart haughty, and did not (31) raise (246) my eyes (140) and I didn’t walk with haughtiness and with wonders from me”.
Please Hashem, do for me kindness and truth and salvations, like the greatness of His wonders (583) = 1000.
And through this, multiply my blessings by a thousand = 1000 thousands, and may I merit to truly have (502) trust (75) and to be with my husband (wife) always in love (13) companionship (20) and peace (382) = 992.
And through this may I (my wife) merit to be imbued in the blink of an eye with Moshiach (359) the son of (52) Yosef (156), Moshiach (359) the son of (52) David (14) = 992, who will build the Beit HaMikdash speedily in our days, in the blink of an eye.
